Nota aclaratoria sobre la cronología de las publicaciones de la Revista Matices en Lenguas Extranjeras de la Universidad Nacional.

📚 Cette recherche, présentée dans l’infographie ayant obtenu la 3e place au Concours d’infographies 2022, explore comment la lecture critique peut être utilisée pour renforcer les compétences cognitives et communicatives d’étudiant·e·s universitaires de FLE niveau B2.

Grâce à une approche qualitative, l’étude analyse la relation entre les connaissances préalables, la compréhension et l’évaluation critique dans le processus de lecture, favorisant la pensée réflexive et les capacités d’analyse.

📌 Résultats clés :
🧠 Connaissances : activation des savoirs préalables
🧐 Compréhension : identification de l’intention du texte
🔍 Évaluation : remise en question des arguments et jugement critique
📝 Analyse : prise de notes et description de phénomènes observés

Les participant·e·s étaient des étudiant·e·s d’une université publique intéressé·e·s par la linguistique et l’enseignement du français.

This research, featured in the infographic that won second place in the 2022 Infographic Contest, explores how metacognitive strategies influence the writing performance of EFL students.

Using the action research model by Kemmis et al. (2014), the study examined three key stages of writing: planning, monitoring, and evaluation.

🧩 Accuracy: greater grammatical awareness
📝 Content: improved text structure
💬 Vocabulary: more effective word use
🔤 Mechanics: enhanced punctuation and spelling

Students from a modern languages program at a public university participated in this study, which highlights the importance of reflection in language learning.

The infographic that won the 2022 Infographic Contest presents research on how self-recorded videos can improve oral production in Gastronomy students learning a foreign language. Using an action research methodology based on Burns’ (2010) cycle—planning, action, observation, and reflection—the study analyzed different stages of the learning process.

📌 Key findings:
🔹 Reduction in L1 use
🔹 Increased self-correction and effective feedback
🔹 Improved coherence and improvisation
🔹 Greater student confidence and motivation

The study involved 15 students from a private university in Xalapa, and it shows how self-recorded videos can be a valuable tool to foster learner autonomy and strengthen oral skills in foreign language learning.

El autor Julián Esteban Escobar González, de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, nos presenta su artículo Lengua e identidad: debates sobre la ortografía del español en la Colombia decimonónica, en el cual se examinan las relaciones entre lengua e identidad en el contexto de los debates sobre la reforma ortográfica del español en el siglo XIX.

Durante esta época, los círculos académicos latinoamericanos discutieron recurrentemente la aceptación u oposición a las reformas ortográficas propuestas por varios intelectuales del continente. Los académicos colombianos participaron notablemente en estas discusiones. Este artículo tiene como objetivo divulgar las opiniones de los intelectuales colombianos decimonónicos que contribuyeron significativamente a estos debates y explorar cómo sus argumentos se entrelazan con un análisis más profundo sobre el papel de la herencia hispánica en la construcción de la identidad nacional colombiana.
