This time 6 years ago, Jolie Tuo and myself started something that we had been dreaming about for a long time. We built Lilliput from scratch, we put everything into making our love and passion for Montessori help build strong, independent, happy children in China. Six years down the line, it’s still thriving! This is just the beginning, big things are coming!

In Montessori, “normalization” doesn’t mean making children conform or behave in a rigid, traditional way. It’s actually something much more beautiful.

Normalization is what happens when a child is given the right environment, freedom within limits, and meaningful work. Over time, you begin to see deep concentration, independence, self-discipline, and a genuine love of learning emerge naturally.

Dr. Montessori observed that when children are truly engaged in purposeful activity, they become calmer, more focused, and more connected—to themselves and to others. This isn’t forced behavior; it’s the child’s true nature coming forward.

You might notice:

✨ Long periods of uninterrupted concentration
✨ Care for their environment and others
✨ A sense of inner satisfaction and calm

Normalization is not the starting point—it’s the result of respecting the child and trusting their developmental process.

It’s a powerful reminder that when we prepare the right conditions, children don’t need to be controlled—they thrive. 💛
