What does concept-based, inquiry-driven learning actually feel like for both learners and teachers?

In my partnerships, I like to encourage teachers to explore different components of concept-based curriculum and instruction, so I've built two free simulations to unpack inductive inquiry and concept-based unit planning:

Conceptual Thinking Simulator: step into the learner's seat: ask questions, spot patterns, and build your own generalizations through inductive inquiry.

Unit Planning Sandbox: take a traditional topic and transform it into a concept-based, inquiry-driven unit, then preview the impact on student transfer.

Pick your subject and grade level inside each one. Works on any device.

August can't come soon enough for me. I'm so glad to be based home in Hong Kong, and I'm genuinely excited to partner with five schools for the beginning of the academic year.

Hong Kong schools here are doing something valuable in terms of investing time and energy into AI and digital literacy. I'll be spending time with secondary IB DP students developing AI literacy and research skills, working alongside local secondary teachers to build an AI-infused curriculum that holds up in the classroom, and facilitating pedagogy sessions with primary teachers on what AI-powered teaching can practically look like.

I'm also looking forward to coaching the development of a mathematics curriculum built around deep conceptual understanding and connecting with a network of schools across Hong Kong and China on the bigger picture of AI digital literacy.

These are the conversations I care most about. Thank you for these opportunities!

See you soon, Hong Kong. 🇭🇰

I am so grateful to not get on a plane in August LOL.

My latest video this week dives into a framework I'm really excited about: the AI Literacy Framework (AILit), a joint initiative by the European Commission and the OECD.

Designed for primary and secondary education, it outlines key competences across four domains:

Engage with AI
Create with AI
Manage AI
Shape AI

Watch here: https://youtu.be/r7f6aqyOeII

It's a powerful resource for teachers, school leaders, policymakers, and learning designers to help young people understand, use, and shape AI responsibly and ethically.

Check it out at https://ailiteracyframework.org/ and let me know your thoughts in the comments!
