Happy Qixi Festival to everyone celebrating! 🎋🌕
Falling on the 7th day of the 7th month in the Chinese lunar calendar, Qixi Festival is widely known as Chinese Valentine’s Day, rooted in the touching ancient legend of the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. Separated by the Milky Way, the two lovers can only meet once a year, when flocks of magpies come together to form a bridge across the stars.
This festival is about far more than romance. It honors the values of love, longing, reunion and hope that have been part of Chinese culture for generations.
At eChineseLearning, we believe language learning goes hand in hand with cultural understanding. Our personalized 1-on-1 online Chinese lessons let you explore real Chinese traditions while building your language skills.
