A free one-month online training course on β€²β€² Using Geographic Information Systems in Public Health Applications β€²β€²
"Geographic Information Systems for Public Health Applications"
Course starts next October 23th for a month. Dr. Nana Lowe Dr. Nana LUO with a Ph.D. in geographic information systems major from the University of California, Santa Barbara University and San Diego State University as a joint program from the three American universities.

Summary:
She will talk about her experience from scientific research and science publishing to science writing, the importance of scientific training in science journalism, as well as the differences and similarities between writing academic papers and news articles. She will illustrate how to tell a great story in scientific papers with flair and vigor. Finally, discuss the notion of science communication in the West, how it’s different from the concepts of kepu and kexue chuanbo in China, and the key role of scientists.
