Blue Viper. Purple Tiger. Yellow Crane. Red Panda.

These are the teams forged during the annual Field Day. No longer green Water Buffaloes, the whole school community comes together for a day of friendly competition.

We were thrilled to have 11 of our secondary students compete at the ACAMIS VEX National Robotics Tournament in Shanghai.

This event brought together approximately 50 middle school teams and 50 high school teams from across China, making it one of the largest and most competitive robotics tournaments of the year.

In a rare and outstanding achievement, one of our High School teams (Charlize C., Amanda C.) earned not one, but two major awards at the same tournament. The team won the Inspire Award for their leadership and student-centered approach, as well as the Sportsmanship Award for their professionalism and respect toward competitors.

Congratulations to all who participated in this competition!

Happy Chinese New Year!

At Wuhan Yangtze International School we celebrated the beginning of the Year of the Horse with many different activities.

Our Early Childhood students performed the Story of the Great Race for one another and tried different types of treats. Elementary students explored the art of Chinese calligraphy and the delicate craft of sugar painting. Secondary students took the celebration to the stage. Students presented skits that showcased humor, storytelling, and cultural themes. They performed songs and dances that reflected both traditional and contemporary Chinese culture.

At Wuhan Yangtze, students gained a deeper understanding of Chinese culture through hands-on experiences that brought classroom learning to life.

When a first grader proudly connects their first sensor, or a high schooler leads their team through a complex challenge, something powerful happens—students discover what they’re capable of.

Wuhan Yangtze International School was proud to host the VEX IQ Robotics Tournament. Middle school students across 28 teams and seven international schools traveled from Chengdu, Hefei, Qingdao, Tianjin, Wuhan and Yantai.

Team 94915G (Nicholas S., Jacob S., Rock J., Oliver F., Han C.) won the Excellence Award, the highest honor at the tournament. This achievement celebrates overall mastery, combining strong robot performance, innovative design, and teamwork.

Team 94915F (Yijia Z., Yibei Z., Timothy M., Jiho L.) earned the Think Award for their effective use of programming to solve the game challenge.

The robots will change. The skills will not. From the competition field to classroom, our students carry forward the problem-solving mindset that defines true innovation.
