From May 16 to 18, the Tianjin University Hainan International Institute and the Tianjin University – University of Reading Henley International Institute were officially inaugurated during the Forum on the High-Quality Development of Chinese-Foreign Cooperative in Running Schools held at the Hainan Lingshui Li'an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone.
The Tianjin University Hainan International Institute offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programes. The first initiative to be launched is the Tianjin University – University of Reading Henley International Institute, a partnership between Tianjin University's College of Management and Economics and the University of Reading's Henley Business School. In 2026, the Institute will begin enrolling undergraduate and master's students from across China.

Tianjin University Enters ESI World Top 100
According to the latest data released by Clarivate on May 14, Tianjin University has achieved a significant milestone by ranking 100th globally by total citations in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database. This marks a rise of seven places from the previous period and represents the university's first entry into the world's top 100.
In the current ESI rankings, Tianjin University's discipline of Psychiatry/Psychology has also entered the ESI global top 1%. This is the university's seventh medical and health-related subject area to enter the ESI global top 1%.
To date, a total of 19 subject areas at Tianjin University have been included in the ESI top 1%, five disciplines in the top 1‰, and three disciplines in the top 1‱, reflecting the increasing maturity and comprehensiveness of the university's disciplinary layout.

On May 16, 2026, the International Cultural Festival turned our campus into a joyful whirlwind of color, sound, and flavor.
From traditional dances that made everyone clap along to food stalls that vanished faster than we could say "seconds, please", every corner of the festival buzzed with laughter and discovery.
It's the time of the year where the whole day is filled with fun and joy!
