Dulwich International High School Programme Suzhou offers a rigorous and supportive academic programme leading to the IGCSE and A Level examinations.

Dulwich International High School Programme Suzhou (DHSZ) is a selective, English-medium, co-educational four-year high school. Our students are highly motivated and learning-focused, making it a delight to teach them. The majority of our 400 students are PRC nationals who will pursue their university studies at excellent universities and colleges outside China. We are one of a family of schools o

wned and operated by Education in Motion (EiM), based in Shanghai. EiM, formerly known as Dulwich College International, was founded in 2003 with full approval and authority from Dulwich College London and currently operates eleven schools in China, Seoul, Bali, England, Switzerland and Singapore. Being part of a network allows us to work together, leveraging talent and resources to organise events, forge internal and external relationships and share experiences. This exposes our students and staff to a rich and varied choice of experiences that individual schools could not offer on their own. Currently in our 15th year of operation, we first welcomed students in September 2012 in temporary premises within the beautiful grounds of the prestigious Suzhou High School in the heart of the old town of Suzhou in Jiangsu Province. In August 2015, we moved to our new purpose-built campus, which is located in the SIP district of Suzhou, right next door to Dulwich's other school in Suzhou, Dulwich College Suzhou, which is a 3–18 international school offering IGCSE and the IB Diploma. Furthermore, we enjoy good relations and maintain a close partnership with Suzhou High School, which is one of the top ten high schools in China. Our strong connections with both Suzhou High School and Dulwich College London allow us to truly claim that our school is a bridge between the educational traditions of the East and the West. We take our responsibility to keep our students safe very seriously. This includes protecting our students from all forms of harm and abuse.

What does it mean to come home after graduation?

For our Class of 2026, Alumni Homecoming was a chance to return to familiar classrooms, reconnect with teachers and friends, and hear from alumni who had already taken the next step into university life.

It was also something more.

Graduation may mark the end of school, but it does not mark the end of belonging. Each year group becomes part of a wider alumni community, where experience, advice and support can pass naturally from one generation of DHSZ students to the next.

As our newest alumni prepare for universities, cities and countries around the world, they do so knowing that the friendships they formed, the teachers who supported them and the community they helped shape remain part of their story.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026, and thank you to every alumnus who came back to make the day so special.

What does an international teacher bring to the classroom?

More than experience from another country.

They bring different ways of thinking, teaching and solving problems. They bring experience of different education systems, curricula and cultures. Most importantly, they give students the opportunity to encounter new perspectives every day.

This year, we are delighted to welcome seven new educators to Dulwich International High School Programme Suzhou. Their expertise spans scientific research, mathematics, music, drama, languages, economics and boarding, alongside experience from schools and universities around the world.

Each brings something different. What unites them is a commitment to helping our students learn, grow and achieve more than they thought possible.

Good teaching does not happen by accident.

Behind every lesson at DHSZ is a teacher who has invested serious time in getting better at what they do. This year, that meant Cambridge International Education training for 20 teachers, 726 hours logged on the Evidence Based Education Great Teaching Toolkit, and dedicated training in student wellbeing and inclusion.

We also welcomed visiting experts, including Matthew Savage on belonging and wellbeing, Joe Arkley from the Royal Shakespeare Company on communication, and Ron Lancaster on creativity within mathematics.

Much of this work happens out of sight. Its impact is visible every day, in the classroom.

Now that the term has ended and campus is quiet, we have been looking back on everything this community shared over the 2025–2026 academic year.

R U OK? Day in September. Week Without Walls in November. The school's first original musical in December. Year 10 students mentoring DUCKS pupils in April. The RSC residency, the Founders Day marketplace, the House Cup, the sports exchange with Dulwich Hengqin, the Walkathon, Dulwich Talks, the Enterprise Fayre.

And then graduation: 131 students walking the Dragon Walk for the last time, heading to universities across the world.

822 offers. But behind every one of them is a student who found their own way there, supported by teachers, counsellors, boarding staff, and families who showed up every day.

At DHSZ, the most meaningful learning rarely happens in isolation. It happens together.

As we look back on the 2025–2026 academic year, five things stand out about our boarding community: belonging, independence, academic ambition, leadership through service, and a genuine desire to make an impact beyond themselves.

As one Year 13 boarder put it: "The thing I'll remember most isn't the events or the trips. It's knowing there was always someone here who cared, listened and wanted me to succeed."

That is what we try to build. Every day, in the conversations that happen after class, during supervised study, on the floors, and in the quiet moments in between.

We asked three alumni. Audrey (Class of 2024, University of Hong Kong), Jenny (Class of 2025, University of Bristol), and Amy (Class of 2025, University of Bristol) each had a different answer.

For Audrey, it was a shift in mindset: learning to measure success by her own growth rather than class rankings. For Amy, it was the teaching style and English-speaking environment that meant university felt like a continuation, not a shock. For Jenny, it was four years of boarding life that taught her how to live independently long before she had to.

Different stories. One common thread: the habits, confidence, and independence built at DHSZ did not stop being useful at graduation. They became more useful.

Thank you to Audrey, Jenny, and Amy for giving their time, returning to campus, and sharing their experiences so generously with our current students. Moments like these remind us that the Dulwich community does not end at graduation.

Our Annual Awards Evening brought together students from Year 10 to Year 12 to recognise outstanding achievement across academics, boarding life, and global citizenship.

Academic Awards, Subject Awards, and Head of Department Awards were presented across every year group, recognising not only results but also curiosity, perseverance, and consistent effort. Honours Roll certificates went to students who maintained the highest standards throughout the year.

Beyond academics, the Boarder of the Year Award recognised students who made boarding life better for everyone around them. A Year 12 student was honoured with the EARCOS Global Citizenship Award for demonstrating empathy, care for others, and a commitment to making a difference.

Every award reflects a journey shared between student and teacher. The early mornings, the revised essays, the experiments attempted again. Behind each certificate are the hours put in together.

At DHSZ, we believe every step forward is worth marking.

Once a Dragon, always a Dragon.

Earlier this month, graduates from across different years returned to campus for our June Alumni Homecoming. Handshakes turned into hugs, conversations picked up mid-sentence, and alumni from the earliest cohorts and the most recent found they had more in common than they expected.

The Class of 2026 has chosen where they are going next. And we could not be prouder.

822 offers. USD 2,510,046 in scholarships. 131 graduates are heading to universities across the UK, US, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore.

The headline figures speak for themselves. 70% of our graduates received offers from QS Top 30 universities. 95% from QS Top 100. But the real story is where they have chosen to go, and why.

51 graduates are heading to the UK, with 2 enrolling at Cambridge, 2 at Imperial, 10 at UCL, and 1 at LSE. 50 are heading to the US, including students enrolling at Washington University in St. Louis, NYU, UCSD, and UC Davis. 14 are heading to Australia, all to QS Top 30 universities. 8 of 10 Canadian-bound students will study at the University of Toronto.

In creative disciplines, 22 art and music applicants received 69 offers, with 19 from UAL alone. 7 of the 9 UK-bound art students will study at UAL.

These are not students who simply chased a ranking. They are students who, with the support of teachers, counsellors, and families, found the university that genuinely fits.

To the Class of 2026: congratulations. You have earned this.

To every teacher, counsellor, boarding staff member: thank you. Thank you also to our parents who placed their trust in us and supported their children along the way. This belongs to the whole community.
