The Class of 2021 gets ready to bid us farewell as they embark on Diploma Programme examinations and celebrate their many successes at the upcoming Graduation Ceremony.

SWIS seniors have been patiently waiting since November 2020 to hear of their university acceptances and make their decision using a best-fit approach. With targeted guidance from our College Counselors, students have sent over 165 applications to 93 different institutions located around the world. This was by no means a small feat and SWIS is thrilled to see our students off to Ivy League Universities such as Cornell and other prestigious institutions including the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Cambridge, Purdue University, University of California - Berkeley, Tufts University, University of Waterloo and University of Michigan, just to name a few.

As the next generation of SWIS graduates begins their transition to adulthood, we are certain they will continue to represent the school, their parents, and the community by embodying the SWIS Values in all aspects of their lives. Congratulations to the Class of 2021!

Next Friday, April 2nd SWIS will hold the GREAT SWIS PIANOTHON with over 100 students performing throughout the day from 8:10am to 4pm! This type of event is unique in that it has never been tried before in Shenzhen. The aim is to raise money for the Captivating Charity “First job program”. This program is important as it will help to educate illiterate females in minority groups to enter the workforce. The excitement at SWIS is mounting every day with students practicing hard for the event. Please follow the event on zoom (details sent to parents via Managebac) and help us by donating to this worthy cause.

The American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is an affiliate of Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools. SWIS Primary students achieved nine gold medals, ten silver medals, and twenty-one bronze medals. SWIS Secondary students achieved ten gold medals, eleven silver medals, and twelve bronze medals. SWIS is celebrating two student's achievements in Grades 5 and 7 who came 2nd and 1st in their Grade categories for the entire ASEAN and Greater China Region. SWIS hopes all students are satisfied with their results and also would like to thank the exceptional Math teachers at SWIS for continuing to challenge our students.

SWIS MUN Club will be attending their first MUN conference this year at Shekou International School. The conference takes place from November 20th to November 22nd. SWIS student attendees have been preparing for the past month by researching their delegated countries and investigating the issues that will be discussed in their respective committees.
