Spring has arrived at Tsinghua SIGS. 🌸
On March 21, we join the global community to celebrate the 2026 International Day of Forests. This year's theme, Forests and Economies, invites us to consider how nature can offer solutions for a more sustainable world.
On our urban campus, we're reminded of this every day through the green spaces and waterways we're fortunate to have, and the biodiversity they sustain.

Where science meets culture. Meet Moroccan student Ikrame Belfaquir.
Ikrame relocated from Morocco to Shenzhen to pursue a master’s in biomedical engineering at Tsinghua SIGS. Through hands-on learning in laboratories, hospitals, and research environments, she explores how biomedical engineering connects scientific discovery with real patient care.
Living and studying in Shenzhen has also become a journey of cultural exchange, from sharing Moroccan traditions on campus to learning Chinese and engaging with a global student community.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we invited women from the Tsinghua SIGS community to reflect on the experiences that shape who they are today.
Associate Professor Jong Mui Choo reflects on the power to embrace, turning mistakes into resilience, discovery into courage, and belief into strength.
Master’s Student Anna Reztsova reminds us that being a woman is to be gentle and strong at once, moving forward with independence and self-belief.
Their perspectives underscore the strength and potential of women across disciplines and cultures.
