Last Friday, our learners at Hongqiao Early Childhood Campus (ECE) came together to celebrate the UN International Day of Peace through stories, music, art, movement, and collaborative experiences.

Through these activities, children explored how friendship, kindness, cooperation, and caring for others can help create a peaceful community.

🇨🇳 China Go!

Over the past week, SCIS Pudong students explored new places, embraced new challenges, and strengthened connections through this year's China Trips.

Beyond the destinations themselves, these experiences encouraged students to step outside familiar routines, build genuine camaraderie, and discover new strengths along the way.

7 destinations. Nearly 500 students. More than 60 faculty members.

Together, our China Trip journeys covered approximately 10,560 kilometres across China.

From the bamboo forests of Moganshan to the grasslands of Inner Mongolia, and from Huangshan Mountain to the Great Wall, SCIS Hongqiao Upper School students explored five provinces, regions, and municipalities through experiences that challenged, inspired, and connected them.

Behind these numbers were new friendships, stronger communities, challenges overcome, and countless memories made.

The stories we carry.

Every member of the SCIS community carries a different story.

Some are stories of friendship. Others are stories of learning, discovery, belonging, and growth.

Together, these experiences connect us and continue to shape our community.

Embracing the Highland Spirit at SCIS

Over the last two days, the stirring sound of the bagpipes filled our Hongqiao campus as students explored Scotland's rich musical heritage through bagpipe lessons and workshops led by renowned Shanghai piper Chris Justham, alongside special guests Margaret Houlihan and Emma Hill from Scotland's National Piping Centre.

The experience culminated in a memorable performance by Margaret and Emma, bringing the traditions of Scottish piping to life for our Dragons.

Across SCIS, community extends far beyond the classroom.

As the new school year gets underway, students, families, and staff are reconnecting, building new relationships, and strengthening the sense of belonging that makes our community unique.

Here's a look at some of those moments.
