Xiitang is one of my favorite places to bring spontanous visitors if they want to see something else but all the modern skyscrapers.

Maybe it's because of the Jackie Chan/HK movies, I always imagined all of Shanghai to look like Nanjing Road, maybe with a few more rickshaws. How about you? Shanghai/China is what you expected it to be before you got here?
