“It's no secret that China's looming sphere of influence can be felt from all over the world. And it dragged me here. It dragged my here, like the alarm clock which drags you out from the comfort of your bed every morning. In a sense, coming to study here has been my wake up call. Again.
Last time I was in China, was 4 years ago, in Beijing. Back then I was an exchange student, studying in Beijing's 57. High school. A lot has changed since then- I have changed, China has changed and I bet Beijing has changed as well.
But Shanghai, to me, hasn't. Like a nest of busy bees, the city is constantly buzzing. Merely the comprehension of it can be immensely inspiring. That alone already, I know, brought me back to Shanghai.
It’s hard to say what the future brings. Everyday there’s something new and interesting going on. However what I know for sure is that I will continue being active in school life and productive. I love the expat community in Shanghai.”

In this developing and globalizing world, with so many boundaries losing significance and an increase of the importance of mobilization and the flexibility, studying abroad is a must to foster global connections and dialogue. Shanghai University provides a great opportunity for its international students to experience diversity, receive inspirations and understand China’s role in this globalizing world, which is the reason why I’ve chosen to do my master here.
