把字句 - How to say “do something to a specific thing” in Chinese? 👀
Try this useful grammar pattern:
🔵 把字句
bǎ zì jù = The “把” sentence
We use 把字句 when we want to emphasize what someone does to a specific person or thing. It is commonly used for requests, orders, and describing how something is handled.
✨ Structure
A + 把 + B + V + ……
A = the doer
B = the specific person or thing affected by the action
💡 Easy way to remember:
把 = put the object before the action
👉 A 把 B + action
Remember: B should be specific or already known, and negative adverbs or modal verbs come before 把.
