🎤On September 12–13, six students from our English Debate Society took part in the Technology Debate Open 2026, conducted in the World Schools Debate (WSDC) format. Across multiple impromptu debates, students analysed motions and prepared arguments with their teammates under time pressure. 🌍

Organised by a group of international high school students from schools including Shenzhen College of International Education (SCIE), one of China’s leading international schools, the tournament focused on AI, digital societies, and technology ethics.

Through rounds of challenging debate, the team formed by Jasper Lam (S3C), Jasmine Lai (S3C), and Jade Kwong (S3C) successfully advanced to the semi-finals, while sharpening their critical thinking, teamwork, argumentation, and public speaking skills. 🎉👏

We would like to thank our dedicated coaches, Mr. Sebastien Chan, Mr. Kevin Chao, and Ms. Lynnette Pang, for guiding this next generation of debaters. 🙌

9月12至13日，本校英文辯論學社六位同學參加了線上科技主題英語辯論賽 2026（Technology Debate Open 2026）。賽事採用世界中學生辯論錦標賽（WSDC）賽制，參賽者需參與多場即席辯論，在有限時間內分析辯題、構思論點並與隊友協作備賽。🌍

賽事由來自多所國際高中的學生共同籌辦，其中包括中國具代表性的國際學校之一——深圳國際交流書院（SCIE）。辯題聚焦人工智能、數碼社會及科技倫理等議題，讓同學就當代科技發展所帶來的機遇與挑戰展開深入思考與辯論。

經過多輪具挑戰性的辯論，由林鈺皓（初三愛）、黎宇晴（初三愛）及鄺珮瑜（初三愛）組成的隊伍成功晉級準決賽！🎉👏

透過是次比賽，同學不但累積了更多英語辯論經驗，亦進一步鍛鍊了批判思考、團隊合作、論證、臨場應變及公開演說等能力。

👨‍⚕️🏥On September 12, members of the Model United Nations (MUN) and Conferences Society, accompanied by Mr. Joel Ng and Ms. Crissie Wong, attended the forum on "Macao's Public Health and Well-being: Policy, Research and Community Practice." Hosted at the University of Macau, the event was organized by the Macao International Affairs Exchange and Training Association.

Featuring a main forum and two sub-forums, the event explored public health policy, healthy ageing, smart technology, youth mental health, and sports development. Through insightful sharing by Dr. Lo Iek Long (Director of the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR Government), Prof. Xiang Yutao (University of Macau), Dr. Jacky Ho (University of Saint Joseph), and other guest speakers, students gained a deeper understanding of public health as a complex interplay of policy design, technology, and community action.

The forum extended our students' global perspective beyond the classroom into a real policy setting. Building on this experience, our English MUN and Conferences Society will encourage members to stay engaged with public health and other community-relevant global issues.

9 月 12 日，培正中學英語模聯與議事學會在吳雄舟老師與黃婉芳老師的帶領下，出席了由澳門國際事務交流培訓協會主辦、於澳門大學舉行的「澳門公共衛生與健康：政策·科研·社區實踐」論壇。

論壇由主論壇及兩場子論壇組成，議題涵蓋公共衛生政策、銀髮健康與智慧科技、青年心理健康與運動發展。在主論壇中，學生們透過澳門特別行政區政府衛生局羅奕龍局長、澳門大學醫學院公共衛生及醫藥管理學系系主任項玉濤教授、聖若瑟大學健康及環境科學學院何鍾建院長等嘉賓的分享，了解到公共衛生不僅是醫學課題，更是政策設計、科技應用與社區實踐的綜合命題。

是次活動讓學生把課堂上的國際視野延伸至真實的公共政策現場。學會將延續這份學習，鼓勵同學繼續關注公共衛生等貼近社會的國際議題。

👏👏上週五本校學生在中學英文科盧明莉老師帶領下，前往氹仔北安碼頭，於「奧比斯眼科飛機醫院——澳門光明之旅」擔任義工，協助派發傳單、引導參觀者、支援活動運作及導賞工作。

是次奧比斯眼科飛機醫院來到澳門，讓奧比斯會員及合資格澳門市民登機參觀，了解這個國際非政府組織如何運作，以及如何透過培訓醫護人員和眼科項目幫助視力受損患者。透過參與，學生亦加深了對奧比斯工作及全球護眼使命的認識。🌍✨👁️

Led by English teacher Ms. Lou Meng Lei, our secondary school students supported the Orbis Flying Eye Hospital Macau Program at Taipa Ferry Terminal last Friday by guiding visitors, facilitating activities, assisting with tours, and distributing event materials.

Boarding the Flying Eye Hospital allowed Orbis members and eligible residents to explore the aircraft and discover how the NGO combats visual impairment through medical training and eye care. The visit also gave the participating students a deeper insight into Orbis's global mission to eliminate avoidable blindness.

🎤On August 29, our secondary school teachers and students attended the final contest and award ceremony of the World Universities Public Speaking Invitational Championship 2026, held in celebration of the University of Macau’s 45th anniversary.

Elite student speakers from world-leading universities demonstrated outstanding communication skills, critical thinking and global perspectives through fluent English presentations, bringing valuable learning experiences to our participants.

Our teachers and students also joined two professional public-speaking workshops, namely “How to Tell Engaging Stories” and “Speak with Confidence, Not Perfection: Managing Nerves in High-Stakes Moments” hosted by Mr. Mas Mahathir Bin Mohamad and Mr. Brian Hodgson respectively. The two interactive sessions delivered practical speech techniques, persuasive strategies and competition tips to strengthen students’ public speaking and communication competence.

This event allowed our students to experience high-level international competitions, gain practical experience and expand their cross-cultural horizons, greatly enhancing their overall English proficiency and global communication skills.

日前於8月29日，本校中學英語科師生參加澳門大學 45 周年校慶活動，觀摩 2026 全球大學演講邀請賽決賽及頒獎禮。來自全球頂尖學府的參賽選手以流利英語演講，展現出色的溝通能力、批判思維與國際視野，讓本校師生獲益匪淺。

師生同日參與兩場演講工作坊，主題為《如何說好一個精彩故事》及《以自信為本，不苟求完美：如何在關鍵時刻控制緊張的情緒》。兩場活動分別由專業演講者Mr. Mas Mahathir Bin Mohamad 與資深演講導師Mr. Brian Hodgson主持，透過互動教學分享演講技巧、表達策略與備賽心得，有效強化學生的英語演講與溝通素養。

本次活動讓學生近距離感受國際級賽事水準，累積實戰經驗、拓寬跨文化視野，全面提升學生的英語綜合能力與國際交流素養。🗣️

Students Receive Merit Awards at Macao Youth English Speech Contest 2026

The Macao Youth English Speech Contest aims to identify and connect outstanding English speakers in Macao, fostering international exchange and advancing language education. In addition, the event serves as a platform to share inspiring stories of China and Macao with a global audience.

During the preliminary round, contestants tackled thought-provoking topics, including "The World of Tomorrow: Human or Artificial?" and "Do Immediate Wins or Enduring Visions Drive Effective Change?" Our students Wong Cheng (S5B) and Ung Kai Him (S4E) successfully made their way into the finals.

The finals took place on July 18. In the prepared speech section, contestants delivered presentations on the topics "Taking an open approach to AI in the Greater Bay Area" and "Finding opportunity Amidst Instability." Immediately after their prepared speech, contestants faced a Q&A session, answering 2 questions from the question master. To conclude, contestants were given 10 minutes to prepare for a 2-minute impromptu speech.

Both our finalists received the Merit Award. Ung Kai Him was also named the First Runner-Up for the Online Popularity Award. We would like to extend our gratitude to
Ms. Elena Chung, Ms. Wency Leong, Ms. Rachel Tou, and Mr. Jimmy Wong for their guidance and support throughout the competition.

培正同學於2026年全澳青年英語演講比賽中獲優良獎

全澳青年英語演講比賽旨在發掘及凝聚澳門優秀的英語演講人才，促進國際交流，推動語言教育發展。此外，該賽事亦是一個向世界講好中國故事與澳門故事的重要平台。

在初賽階段，參賽選手圍繞主題展開角逐，主題包括「明日世界：人類還是人工智能？」（The World of Tomorrow: Human or Artificial?）以及「推動有效變革：眼前的勝利還是長遠的願景？」（Do Immediate Wins or Enduring Visions Drive Effective Change?）。我校高二望班的汪澄同學及高一正班的吳啟謙同學憑藉出色表現成功晉級決賽。

決賽於7月18日舉行，在命題演講環節中，選手們圍繞「以開放態度對待粵港澳大灣區的人工智能發展」（Taking an Open Approach to AI in the Greater Bay Area）和「在動盪中尋找機遇」（Finding Opportunity Amidst Instability）兩個主題發表了演講。在命題演講結束後，選手們隨即進入問答環節，回答提問官提出的兩個問題。最後，選手們在10分鐘的準備時間後，完成2分鐘的即興演講。

最終，我校兩位決賽選手均獲優良獎。吳啟謙同學同時斬獲「網絡人氣獎」亞軍。在此，我們衷心感謝鍾巧思老師、梁詠詩老師、杜詠詩老師以及黃俊堯老師在整個比賽期間的悉心指導與全力支持。

✈️ This summer, students from S1 to S4 took part in two exciting UK study tours fully planned and organized by our English Panel. One group of 14 students headed to the University of Stirling in Scotland (June 30–July 16) with Mr Joel Ng, while another 26 students traveled to St. Mary's School in Ascot (July 7–23) accompanied by Ms Gisele Ng and Mr Sebastien Chan.

Immersed in an English-speaking environment, the students attended classes, collaborated on group tasks, engaged with international peers, and visited historical and cultural sites. Throughout both tours, they applied what they learned in class to solve real-world problems while enhancing their English literacy, improving their adaptability and global competence. Driven by our English Panel's dedication to advancing students' English literacy through authentic learning, we remain committed to providing similar opportunities that foster personal growth and cultural understanding. 🌍

今年暑假，本校英文科組自主策劃與籌備了兩項精彩的英國研學之旅。其中，14位學生在吳雄舟老師帶領下，於6月30日至7月16日前往蘇格蘭University of Stirling；而26位初一至高一學生則在吳欣霞老師及陳衛聰老師陪同下，於7月7日至23日遠赴英格蘭St. Mary's School 展開交流學習。

同學們沉浸於全英語環境，積極參與課堂與小組任務，與多國學員互動，並走訪當地歷史文化景點，實地感受人文風貌。行程中，大家將課本與課堂所學靈活應用於解決真實生活中的問題，全面提升英語素養，展現出卓越的適應力與全球勝任力。憑藉英文科組對透過真實體驗提升學生英語素養的堅持，我們將繼續致力開發優質的境外研學項目，促進學生的個人成長與文化視野。

📣From July 27 to 30, 2026, 11 students from our school attended the Asia Pacific Youth MUN, hosted by Beijing Foreign Studies University. The conference gathered outstanding young minds from across the region. At the grand opening ceremony, Zephyr from S1A was invited as a student representative to deliver an opening speech, showcasing the confidence and eloquence of our youth.

Following standard United Nations rules of procedure, our students participated across two core committees: exploring “Protecting Civilians’ Rights in Armed Conflict” in the UNHRC, and addressing “Building a Digital World Where Children are Safe” in UNICEF. In tackling these complex global issues, our students demonstrated rigorous research and fluent communication skills. Before the sessions, they prepared thorough position papers, and during the conference, actively participated in caucuses, delivered policy speeches, and collaborated with fellow delegates to draft and merge draft resolutions.

With their dedicated engagement and thoughtful contributions, our students earned recognition from the committee and were awarded the following honors:

This academic conference proved to be a deeply rewarding experience. Through cross-regional collaboration, our students honed their English public speaking, cross-cultural communication, and diplomatic negotiation skills. By extending their classroom learning into real-world contexts, they continue to grow into future citizens with a broad perspective and global vision, finding the entire experience immensely inspiring.

2026年7月27日至30日，本校 11 位同學參加了由北京外國語大學主辦的「亞太青年模擬聯合國大會」。在開幕典禮上，初一信班李君堯同學獲邀作為學生代表致詞，展現了本校學生的自信與風采。

本次大會匯聚來自亞太各地區的優秀青年學生，遵循聯合國議事規則展開交流與磋商。在為期數天的會議中，同學們分別參與了兩個核心委員會的討論：在聯合國人權理事會（UNHRC）探討「武裝衝突中的平民權利保護」，並在聯合國兒童基金會（UNICEF）關注「為兒童打造安全的數位世界」。同學們在會前認真查閱資料、研讀議題背景並撰寫立場文件；會議期間，同學們積極參與自由磋商、發表政策演講，並與其他青年代表共同起草與整合決議案草案。

憑藉積極的投入與出色的表現，本校同學在大會評選中獲得肯定，榮獲以下獎項：

🎭Our English teachers, Ms. Camille Sam, Ms. Ariel Lam, and Ms. Rachel Tou, recently visited Hong Kong’s Shatin Pui Ying College to watch an impressive, student-led English musical, Conviction.

Our teachers were deeply inspired by the students' incredible talent, creativity, and professional performance on stage.

Building upon our official sister school agreement signed in June, this activity has successfully fostered our sister school bonds through the arts!🤝

本校英文科老師岑鵑如、林曦曈、杜詠詩最近前往香港沙田培英中學，欣賞由該校師生製作的英語音樂劇《Conviction》，並對同學們在舞台上展現的語文才華、創意與專業表現深表讚嘆。

兩校自今年六月締結為姊妹學校以來，此次活動進一步深化了雙方的藝術與跨學科交流，攜手為拓闊學生視野而努力。
