WISS is one of the first international schools in Shanghai to pass the extensive inspection requirements to allow students to return to campus.

WISS students from Grade 12 and Grade 10 return to WISS tomorrow and Grade 4-9 & 11 students have also been approved to return to WISS campus in the coming weeks.

Concordia high school teachers and students from the Epidemiology class recently participated in a Zoom call with students and teachers from the NYC School of Emergency Management and a representative from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC). In the call, they discussed the technical aspects of a pandemic and what they’ve learned from the COVID-19 event.

One of the coolest outcomes, according to Epidemiology teacher Kathleen Mahoney, is that feedback from the students will show up in the CDC “hotwash”, the organization’s after-action discussion and evaluation. “So our students got to have a direct voice in some of the feedback the CDC will get.”

DP graduates support frontline COVID-19 workers | IB Community Blog Diploma Programme (DP) graduates Tiago and Keno Beck share how their masks are protecting individuals who are working tirelessly to treat patients with COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

We are looking for an IGCSE and A-level math teacher.

You can expect to teach 2-4 hours per day.

This week, we salute our Ms Emma Hughes not only for her ongoing dedication and commitment but also for going above and beyond the call of duty to support our students during these extraordinary times.

As Key Stage leader for the IB Diploma, Ms Hughes immediately implemented rigorous procedures to ensure that students would not be disadvantaged by the unprecedented school closure. In addition to encouraging and motivating IB Diploma students, Ms Hughes spearheaded live interactions using the Zoom platform. In this regard, Ms Hughes played a pivotal role to devise and enact implementation processes and safeguarding policies.

In addition, her relentless focus on student wellbeing resulted in the virtual continuation of welfare support provided in partnership with a medically certified school counsellor. Ms Hughes has been a consistent presence throughout the and a rock of support for the IB Diploma students. Even when she was placed in supervised quarantine upon her return to Shanghai, in conditions that were uncertain and uncomfortable, Ms Hughes continued to execute her leadership and teaching duties in a caring and composed manner. Certainly, a testament to her professionalism and personal resilience. A role model not only for the students in our care but for all members of our school community.
