Last week, our Year 1 and Year 2 students stepped back in time for a very special Qin Dynasty–themed Sleepover, an unforgettable adventure filled with discovery, creativity and teamwork.

From building their own Great Wall and defending the empire in a lively invasion game, to travelling through Ancient China in Virtual Reality to visit the famous Terracotta Warriors, students explored history in immersive and exciting ways.

In the creative studios, they practised the beautiful art of Chinese calligraphy, learning how characters tell stories of culture and tradition.

As night fell, the adventure continued with a family-style Chinese dinner, a cosy movie night with popcorn and hot chocolate, and traditional storytelling before lights out.

Our youngest learners recently took to the stage for the EY Spring Show, bringing joy, creativity and confidence to a very special celebration of learning.

Through songs, movement and storytelling, children shared what they have been exploring in their classrooms this term. For many of them, this was their first time performing in front of an audience, a moment filled with excitement, courage and proud smiles!

Senior School students at Dulwich Puxi wowed the audience with this year’s production of The Addams Family, our first-ever Senior School musical.

From standout performances on stage to the incredible teamwork behind the scenes, students showed creativity, confidence and real dedication throughout the production.

Under the guidance of Head of Drama, Paul Sullivan, the cast and crew brought this iconic story to life, reminding us that true connection comes from embracing what makes each of us unique.

Last Week, Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi was proud to host the ACAMIS Under-19 Football Tournament, welcoming visiting schools from across China to our campus for a brilliant weekend of competition.

As the final event in this season’s ACAMIS core sports, the tournament brings together months of training, teamwork and sporting spirit. Our pitches will be full of energy as student-athletes showcase their skill, determination and love for the game in matches that are competitive, respectful and truly exciting to watch.

Being part of the ACAMIS community is something we value deeply. These events give students the chance to compete, connect and build lasting friendships with peers from international schools across the country.

We are incredibly proud of our 48 students from Years 4, 5 and 6, who recently represented Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi at the Worldwise Primary Games in Singapore, competing alongside nine EiM schools in a vibrant multi-sport event.

Across football, swimming and athletics, our students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, resilience and sportsmanship both on and off the field, while building friendships and experiencing the pride of representing their school on an international stage.

Youth Club: “Up and Away” Adventure Night 🏳️‍🌈🔍
Last week, our Senior School students kicked off Youth Club by designing team flags and launching straight into a campus-wide game of Capture the Flag . With four teams competing, two managed to keep their flags hidden for the full 45 minutes - impressive teamwork (and stealth!)

They wrapped up with Home Slice pizza and a cosy movie moment in the College theatre, watching Disney Pixar’s Up together!

Last week, Dulwich College Shanghai Puxi and Pudong came together to host the FOBISIA Maths Challenge🧠, bringing together around 80 teams from schools across Asia to celebrate maths as something far bigger than numbers and formulas.

Across individual papers📝 and collaborative investigations🤝, students explored maths as a dynamic, creative and team-based discipline from a construction challenge where teams designed a model skywalk connecting two towers across the Huangpu River, to “Around the World in 80 Minutes”, where children competed in maths games inspired by countries across all continents.

What stood out most was how much the challenge called on skills that matter in real life: critical thinking, clear communication, flexibility, teamwork and creative problem-solving. Those kind of complex competencies that help students grow into well-rounded, positive global citizens.

Importantly, success was recognised in different ways: awards celebrated not only speed and accuracy, but also collaboration and team problem-solving, reflecting the belief that mathematical success isn’t just about getting the right answer, it’s about finding solutions together.

Our students became citizen scientists last week during the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) 🐦🌿
Using the Merlin App, DUCKS and Junior School learners identified birds (and even birdsong!) and uploaded observations to a global database, contributing to real scientific research.
A wonderful example of learning beyond the classroom, building curiosity, critical thinking and environmental stewardship across all ages.

Book Week at Dulwich Puxi, inspired by Horton Hears a Who! 📚
From Whoville towns in Early Years to poetry performances and 3D scenes in Upper KS2, our students explored the story’s message: every voice matters, no matter how small through reading, writing, art and thoughtful discussion.

The week ended with a whole-school Whoville Parade, filling our corridors with bright colours, wild hair and big smiles, a heart-warming reminder of how stories can bring us together and help even the smallest voices be heard.
