Creativity stepped beyond the classroom this month as Concordia students showcased their work at An Art Journey, our first-ever exclusive off-campus student exhibition at the Being Art Museum in Pudong.

Featuring nearly 50 works from Grades 8–12, the exhibition invited students to explore identity, emotion, and social issues through painting, mixed media, sculpture, and more. Students also had the opportunity to speak with professional artists and gain firsthand insight into the curatorial process.

We’re proud to see this meaningful experience featured in Shanghai Daily, including interviews with our student artists as they reflect on their creative journeys.

Summer plans are filling up fast, and so is registration for Concordia’s ELL Summer Camp.

From robotics and science experiments to cooking, sports, stage performances, and creative projects, students will build English confidence through hands-on learning, collaboration, and discovery in a full English immersion environment led by experienced Concordia educators.

Open to current PreK–Grade 8 students.
Registration closes May 22.

On Saturday, May 9, our Mandarin teachers attended the Chinese Conference hosted by Shanghai American School Puxi. The theme of the conference was Helping Students Own Their Learning Journey, and the keynote address was delivered by Professor Yong Zhao.

Ms. Tang, Director of Mandarin, was invited to participate in a panel discussion with Professor Zhao, Professor Lai, Dr. Zhang, and two SAS students. The panel discussion focused on the topic Empowering Learners to Take Ownership of Their Growth.

It was a valuable learning opportunity to connect with Mandarin educators from over 29 schools and to engage in discussions about teaching and learning in this rapidly changing time.
