Students traveling through the major transit cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou can contact the designated LSUIC leadership for assistance with airport pickup, temporary lodging, resident permit processing, immigration-related matters, and general guidance.

We strongly encourage incoming students to make contact before their arrival whenever possible, allowing sufficient time for the necessary arrangements to be made. No Liberian student arriving in China should have to navigate the journey alone. Kindly share this information with prospective and incoming students within your networks so that those who need assistance can receive it in a timely manner.

‎July 26, 2026

‎To His Excellency Dudley McKinley Thomas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Liberia to the People's Republic of China, and members of the Embassy; Hon. Olano Teah Bloh, National President Emeritus of LSUIC (2025–2026); members of the outgoing National Executive Committee; Hon. Tarloh Gbeh Chea, Senior Coordinator of the Sixth Council of Coordinators, and members of the Council; the Judiciary Board; city presidents and their leadership teams; the Independent Election Commission led by Dr. Aaron S. Pittman; distinguished guests, fellow Liberian students, ladies and gentlemen.

‎It is with profound humility and sincere gratitude that I accept the responsibility of serving as National President of the Liberian Student Union in China. I thank Almighty God for His guidance, our families for their unwavering support, every Liberian student for the confidence placed in this administration, and the outgoing leadership for their dedicated service to our Union.

‎Let me extend special gratitude to H.E. Olano Teah Bloh and his hard-working team of officials for the tremendous work they have done in bringing our Union thus far. May God bless you for your service.

‎While elections give us different choices, they must never divide us. From this day forward, we are one Union with one shared purpose. I pledge to lead with integrity, humility, accountability, and inclusiveness recognizing that leadership is not about power, but about service. Guided by our principle of "Excellence Through Hard Work," this administration is committed to working with every student to build a stronger, more united, transparent, and impactful LSUIC that serves the interests of all Liberian students in China.

‎Our Mission
‎To achieve this vision, our administration will focus on five fundamental commitments:
1. ‎Strengthen unity and collaboration among Liberian students across China
2. ‎Advocate for the academic success, welfare, and development of all members
3. ‎Create opportunities for professional growth, entrepreneurship, innovation, and networking
4. ‎Promote transparency, accountability, and effective leadership
5. ‎Uphold the dignity and image of Liberia abroad because every Liberian student represents our nation

‎We are not only students in China; we are ambassadors of Liberia. Our behavior, achievements, and relationships shape how others see our country. We must carry ourselves with excellence, respect, and responsibility.

‎We came here with dreams, with hopes, and with the responsibility of gaining knowledge and skills that will allow us to contribute to Liberia and the global community. Academic excellence must remain one of the highest priorities of this Union and a truly effective student union must actively contribute to the success of its members, giving them access to information, mentorship, guidance, and support systems that allow them to reach their full potential.

‎We are grateful today for the presence and continued partnership of our Ambassador, H.E. Dudley McKinley Thomas. With the Embassy's involvement, we are confident these goals and greater ones are within reach.

‎1. Student Development and Support
‎Studying in China brings tremendous opportunity, but also real challenges adapting to a new educational system and culture, overcoming language barriers, and navigating unfamiliar academic expectations. No Liberian student should face these challenges alone. Our administration will strengthen academic support through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and improved access to research, scholarships, and academic opportunities, through a new initiative under the Academic Excellence Committee: the Division of Research and Thesis Advisement (DoRTA). We want our scholars to graduate not only with certificates, but with skills, networks, experience, and ideas that contribute directly to Liberia's development.

‎2. Student Welfare and Advocacy
‎Living far from home can bring financial hardship, health concerns, academic pressure, and emotional strain. No Liberian student should ever feel alone in these moments. Our administration will build a responsive support system offering guidance, advocacy, and timely assistance promoting mental and emotional well-being through peer support, encouraging character grounded in integrity and respect, and embracing our religious and cultural diversity. The true strength of our Union will be measured not only by the programs we implement, but by the lives we positively impact.

‎3. R.U.P.S. Initiative led by the Office of the National Vice President
· ‎R — Reforming Passport Processing
· ‎U — Unity and Student Engagement
· ‎P — Promoting Financial Sustainability
· ‎S — Strengthening Student Support Systems

‎This administration is committed to practical solutions that improve daily student life more accessible passport and documentation services through closer collaboration with the Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Chinese institutions; a more united and inclusive LSUIC through stronger provincial representation and open dialogue; and long-term financial sustainability through responsible stewardship and transparent resource management.

‎As part of this plan, our team has spent the past few weeks building a digital platform to be incorporated into the LSUIC website, featuring:
· ‎The Access Hub instant, verified information about our education system, accessible to Liberian students anywhere, at any hour
· ‎The Embassy Account developed in collaboration with the Liberian Embassy, moving support from a phone line serving a few callers at a time to a platform every student can access simultaneously
· ‎Student Accounts for Direct Contact Services verified student profiles enabling visa applications, passport renewals, and complaints to be raised directly with the Embassy and answered by name
· ‎Vetted Scholarship Agents a channel connecting students only with authenticated agents and verified scholarship programs, ending the scams that have cost families money and students years

‎4. Financial Accountability and Transparency
‎Every resource entrusted to LSUIC belongs to its members and must be managed with integrity. This administration will ensure every financial decision is properly documented, responsibly managed, and openly communicated strengthening digital record-keeping, promoting regular reporting, enforcing budget discipline, and maintaining accurate records for smooth leadership transitions. Under the R.U.P.S. agenda, we will move beyond promises and build lasting systems for this generation and those to come.

‎5. Professional Growth, Enterprise, and Culture
‎Through the Small Business Support Initiative (SBSI), we will offer training, mentorship, and platforms for student innovators and business owners to grow while pursuing their education. We will also celebrate and preserve our Liberian identity through cultural programs and community engagement developing graduates who are prepared not only to pursue opportunities, but to create them, as worthy ambassadors of Liberia.

‎Closing
‎Today marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Liberian Student Union in China a chapter defined by unity, service, accountability, and action. The success of this administration will not depend on the President alone, but on the collective commitment of every student, coordinator, committee member, and leader who believes in our Union's future.

‎My promise is simple: I will lead with humility, integrity, transparency, and an open heart, always placing the interests of our students above personal interests. I invite every Liberian student to join us in building an LSUIC where every voice is heard, every student is valued, and every challenge is met with determination and collaboration.

‎Let us move beyond our differences, embrace our shared identity, and leave a legacy of excellence for those who follow. Together, we will strengthen our Union, create greater opportunities for Liberian students, and proudly represent our nation with dignity and honor.

‎May God bless the Liberian Student Union in China, bless our families, and continue to bless the Republic of Liberia.

‎Thank you, and Happy 179th Independence Day to you all!
