A new chapter takes flight at ! 🚀✨

On July 5, the founding ceremony of Lanzhou University’s School of Aerospace Science and Engineering was held at LZU’s Chengguan Campus, officially marking the establishment of the new school.

Co-established by LZU and the Lanzhou Institute of Physics, CAST, the school focuses on space science, aerospace engineering, and low-altitude technology, aiming to cultivate aerospace talent with strong academic foundations and engineering capabilities. 🌌

Graduate enrollment is expected to begin this year, with undergraduate enrollment planned for next year. 🎓

From LZU, a new journey beyond the horizon begins. 🌍

🇹🇭🤝🇨🇳 Lanzhou University welcomed a delegation from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Xi’an on July 8.

Both sides held productive discussions on strengthening educational cooperation, including student and faculty exchanges, Chinese language teacher training, international student support, and partnerships with Thai universities.

Together, we look forward to building stronger people-to-people ties and expanding academic collaboration between China and Thailand.

A day of discovery in New Area!🚌

On June 26, international students from joined peers from other universities for a "Perceiving Gansu" field trip.

From exploring traditional Chinese medicine farms and trying their hands at intangible cultural heritage floating lacquer art, to walking through high-tech dairy production lines and tasting fresh-picked mini cucumbers at the flower market, it was a sensory journey through Gansu's culture and modern vitality.🌿🎨🥛🥒

By stepping out of the classroom and into real-world settings, students deepened their understanding of China while broadening their horizons and building lasting friendships with one another.🌏❤️

On June 25, international students at explored the art of Chinese bamboo weaving at our 📍Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop.

From learning basic techniques to creating bamboo wind chimes, students turned simple strips of bamboo into delicate handmade pieces.🎋🎐

Through hands-on experience and collaboration, culture came alive in every detail.💫

A new chapter at !
On June 28, Lanzhou University officially launched its School of Artificial Intelligence🤖✨, marking a major step into the future of AI research and education.

Focusing on large models, embodied intelligence, and interdisciplinary innovation, the new school aims to drive cutting-edge development from Western China to the world.

At the ceremony, university–industry collaboration was strengthened through partnerships with leading enterprises, including Huawei and China Tower, as well as new research platforms.

With these joint efforts, LZU is stepping boldly into the age of intelligence. 🚀

The Forbidden City's red walls and golden roofs stand at the heart of the capital. The Temple of Heaven dome catches the sky. The Bell and Drum Towers trace the skyline. Deep in the hutongs, everyday life quietly hums.🍃

This central axis, running north to south, was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2024. 🌏 It carries within it a civilization's sense of order and harmony.

Returning south from the snowy northern frontier to the center of China. ❄️➡️🏙️ Thousands of years of history gather here. From this place, China's story continues.

On the spine of this ancient capital, new rings of time keep growing. ⏳

🌿 Discovering the Birthplace of Chinese Civilization

From the legendary Fuxi Temple to the historic streets of Tianshui Ancient City and the breathtaking Maijishan Grottoes, our international students explored the rich cultural heritage of Gansu through the 2026 Discover China program.

Immersed in history, intangible cultural heritage, local cuisine, and the timeless beauty of the Silk Road, they experienced the enduring charm of Chinese civilization and gained a deeper understanding of China's past and present.

On June 12, international graduates, teachers, and staff came together at LZU’s Yuzhong Campus to celebrate the Class of 2026. 🎓✨

Student representatives from Turkmenistan, Vietnam, and Yemen shared their stories, while outstanding graduates were recognized for their achievements. 🏅 Musical performances by international students then lit up the ceremony with energy and emotion. 🎶

Before saying goodbye, the Dean of the School of International Cultural Exchange shared her heartfelt wishes, reminding graduates that LZU will always be their home, welcoming them back wherever they may be, while encouraging them to carry what they gained here into the wider world. 💙

As the LZU anthem echoed through the hall, the Class of 2026 closed one chapter and was ready to step into the next.
