Sport activities
Our site in Eynsham offers a range of sports facilities, from basketball courts and ping pong tables to football pitches. Our activity coordinators will be organising regular sports events and mini-tournaments.
Trips
It is unlikely you’ll get bored of Oxford anytime soon, but if you fancy something else for a day there is plenty to do. Maybe go for a walk in Port Meadow, a historic common North of Oxford.

Blenheim Palace
Blenheim Palace, located a short bus ride from Oxford, was built in the early 18th Century to celebrate victory over the French in the War of the Spanish Succession. It was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Access to all areas open to the public including the Palace State Rooms, The Untold Story and the Park and Gardens.
Day trips to London
Oxford is only a 1-hour drive away from London. See the famous red double-decker buses, the black cabs and the London Underground for yourself. Take a picture of the Houses of Parliament across the river Thames, admire Admiral Lord Nelson on his column in Trafalgar Square and maybe go on the London Eye, the enormous wheel along the Thames. There are plenty of shopping opportunities in London too – wander down Oxford Street or visit one of the many museums and street markets or even Buckingham Palace and watch the changing of the guards.

Monday afternoon: Meet. Welcome drinks and snacks.
Week 1:
Tuesday - Tour of Oxford. Enjoy a walking tour of our beautiful and historic university city
Wednesday – Christ Church College. One of the most magnificent of Oxford’s 38 colleges and a treat for Harry potter fans too!
Thursday – Pub/Restaurant Evening. Visit some of Kidlington’s characterful pubs with a teacher as your guide to this key English cultural experience
Saturday – London Sights, Shops and Museums. A full day excursion with UK Study Tours to one of the great capitals of the world
Week 2:
Tuesday – Climb the tower of the University Church of St.Mary for a wonderful view of Oxford from one of its ‘dreaming spires’. Bring your camera!
Wednesday – University and Pitt River’s Museums. Natural history in a spectacular setting contrasting with a dark Victorian display of anthropological and ethnographic items.
Thursday Evening – Ice Skating. Meeting at 8pm Carfax Tower in the city centre for a chance to disco dance on ice!
Saturday – Warwick Castle and Stratford. A full-day excursion with UK Study Tours to Britain’s finest medieval castle and then visit Stratford, the birthplace of William Shakespeare
Week 3:
Tuesday – The Ashmolean Museum. Britain’s, and possible the world’s, oldest collect of cultural artifacts and fine arts in a superb setting
Wednesday – Magdalen College. Oxford’s biggest College with its peaceful ‘Quads’, lovely chapel and its own deer park!
Thursday – Punting on the River Cherwell. A classic Oxonian pleasure. Like taking a gondola in Venice! A must-do!
Saturday – Bath and Stonehenge. A full-day excursion with UK Study Tours to the elegant spa city of Bath followed by the world famous ancient and endlessly mysterious giant stone circle
Courses
- Residential course (young learners 12 years and over). Short courses.
General English in the mornings, followed by activities (adaptable) in the afternoons.
- Standard course for over 18s with host family accommodation combined
with social and cultural programming.
- Foundation course
Training in the different kinds of assessment and study skills common in
Higher Education, for example, essays, reports, individual and group
presentations, learning journals, project work and examinations.
Core General English with emphasis on academic study skills, specifically
listening skills. IELTS training.
- Teacher training / or Refresher Course
This course is aimed at raising the abilities and knowledge of existing
teachers it was originally designed to be a refresher course.
- Medical English
Course aimed specifically at nurses that are wanting to work in UK
hospitals. The focus is on communicative approaches, situational role
plays, listening strategies and patient interaction. Course designed in
conjunction with local medical staff trainers.
