The DOST-National Research Council of the Philippines mourns the untimely passing of Dr. Valentin C. Dones III.

Dr. Dones is member of the NRCP under the Division of Medical Sciences, and has served as a Research and Development (RD) Leader for Cebu Doctors’ University under NRCP’s RDLead Program. Throughout his career, Dr. Dones dedicated himself to advancing physical health sciences through research, academic excellence, and service to the people and the scientific community.

His contributions to the NRCP and the broader research community will be deeply remembered and cherished. NRCP extends its deepest sympathies to Dr. Dones’ family, colleagues, students, and loved ones during this time of profound loss.

We honor his life and legacy. May he rest in peace. 🕊

The safety and security of the Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) community remain our highest priority. In line with this commitment, CDU has strengthened its security protocols to help ensure a safe, secure, and protected environment for all students, faculty, employees, visitors, and stakeholders while in the campus.

As part of these enhanced measures, we will continue to conduct bag inspections and vehicle inspections at designated campus entrances. These measures have been implemented since the start of classes on August 3, 2026, as part of CDU’s ongoing and heightened security activities and will remain in effect at campus entry points.

All members of the CDU community and visitors are expected to cooperate fully with our security personnel and comply with the established inspection procedures upon entering the campus.

We encourage everyone to allow extra travel time and arrive earlier than usual, especially those driving to campus and using the PVL Building parking facility. Vehicle inspections may cause temporary delays and slower traffic flow at entry points. Planning ahead will help ensure an orderly entry process.

While these procedures may require additional time, they are necessary to support a safer and more secure campus environment. We ask everyone to exercise patience and understanding throughout the inspection process.

CDU appreciates everyone’s cooperation, vigilance, and shared commitment to maintaining the safety and security of our university community.

NNC 7 Endorses CDU Nutrition and Dietetic Interns to Carcar City for Public Health Internship

The National Nutrition Council Region VII endorsed Nutrition and Dietetic interns from Cebu Doctors’ University (CDU) to the City Government of Carcar for their Public Health Internship.

As part of their immersion, the interns paid a courtesy call to Hon. Mario Patricio P. Barcenas, City Mayor and Chairperson of the Carcar City Nutrition Committee, and Dr. Felmar M. Deza, City Nutrition Action Officer. The courtesy call provided an opportunity to discuss the city’s nutrition programs and the interns’ activities during their public health internship.

In the afternoon, the interns proceeded to their respective barangay assignments, where they began their community immersion and gained firsthand experience in local nutrition and public health initiatives.

NNC 7 is grateful to the City Government of Carcar for welcoming the interns and supporting their learning experience in community nutrition. 💚
