Discovering Hefei Beyond the Campus!

On 13 September 2026, USTC’s new international students explored the city beyond campus during a city tour organized by the USTC Foreign Students Association.

From Chinese art and culture to local history and the remarkable figures who have helped shape Anhui, each stop offered a new glimpse into the city and the province.

After a day of exploring, the tour ended on a more relaxed note at Anshang Grassland. With the wide-open view of Chaohu Lake and the fresh autumn air around them, students had time to slow down, chat about their studies and research, exchange stories, take photos, and simply enjoy one another’s company.

Different countries, different cultures, different journeys — but now connected by one shared identity: USTCers. 💙

A memorable day of discovery, friendship, and a little more understanding of the city we are beginning to call home.

Start Your USTC Journey with New Friends! ✨

On 6 September, more than 80 new international students explored USTC’s East, Middle and West campuses on a special campus tour.📍

Divided into three groups and accompanied by student volunteers, they visited some of USTC’s most iconic spots, including the USTC History Museum, School of the Gifted Young, Guo Moruo Square, Old North Gate, Yexi Lake and the statue of Guo Yonghuai.

Along the way, student volunteers shared the stories behind these landmarks, giving newcomers a glimpse into USTC’s rich history, unique campus culture and spirit of scientific exploration.

New campus. New friends. New memories.

USTC international students embarked on an inspiring study tour “Experience China · Journey in Jiangxi”! ✨

Exploring Nanchang and Jinggangshan, students delved into local history, cultural heritage, ecological advancement, and regional development. The immersive field study helped our global learners better understand China’s historical evolution and innovative development spirit.

USTC continues to deliver distinctive cultural and academic experiences, fostering cross-cultural communication and connecting global youth with authentic China.

Exploring Guizhou: A Journey of Culture, Innovation and Friendship 🌏

From June 28 to July 3, four international students from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) participated in the 2026 ZHI-XING Guizhou Silk Road Youth Exchange Program in Liupanshui, Guizhou.

From solving traditional Chinese puzzles and creating batik and paper-cutting artworks to exploring one of Guizhou’s iconic bridge engineering museums, learning ethnic dances, and experiencing tea picking in the mountains, every activity offered a unique glimpse into China’s rich cultural heritage, technological innovation, and sustainable development.

“Though thousands of miles apart, true friendship brings hearts together.”

Through this journey, our students gained a deeper understanding of China beyond the classroom and built lasting friendships with peers from different cultural backgrounds.

🎉🎓 A night of celebration, memories, and farewell

On the evening of June 24, the International College held the 2026 International Student Graduation Party, bringing together graduates, teachers, and friends for a warm and unforgettable celebration. The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches, graduation blessings, and wonderful performances, from a lively dragon dance to beautiful musical performances that showcased the diversity, talent, and vibrant spirit of our international students. 🌍🎶

More than a farewell, the gala was a celebration of friendship, growth, and the incredible journey our graduates have shared at USTC. As one chapter comes to an end, a new adventure begins.

🎓🌟 A milestone worth celebrating!

On the morning of June 24, USTC held the 2026 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferment Ceremony, bringing graduates together to celebrate one of the proudest moments of their academic journey. As tassels were turned and degrees conferred, our graduates officially closed one chapter and stepped into a new one — carrying with them the spirit of USTC, the support of their teachers and friends, and the courage to pursue their dreams. Congratulations, Class of 2026! Your future starts now. 💫

USTC international students embarked on an unforgettable cultural immersion trip! 🎉

Recently, our international students joined the 2nd International Huangshan Huizhou Cultural Co-creation Camp & the 14th Anhui Cultural Study Tour, gathering with over 300 international students from universities across Anhui.

They wandered the Qiyun Mountain to immerse themselves in time-honored Taoist culture. Everyone enjoyed making classic fish lanterns and took part in the lively Fish Lantern & Bench Dragon Intangible Cultural Heritage Parade. The group also visited Huangshan, one of China’s most famous scenic mountains, to soak in its breathtaking natural views.

At Xidi Ancient Village, they explored the profound charm of Huizhou culture, tried intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting, and learned about the timeless virtue of filial piety.
