On January 23, the USTC International Students Dragon Dance Team took part in the “My Spring Festival in Anhui” 2026 Chinese New Year Gathering for Chinese and international friends, held at Liqiao Water Town, Tongling.
Their spectacular dragon dance kicked off the celebration with power and elegance, showcasing the vibrant spirit and cultural confidence of USTC students 🌟
Beyond the stage, our international students also immersed themselves in traditional Spring Festival customs, explored the charm of Liqiao Water Town, and experienced Chinese culture up close—celebrating a lively, joyful, and truly shared Chinese New Year together ✨

🧧✂️ Learning Chinese New Year the Hands-On Way! ✂️🧧

To help international students better understand Chinese New Year culture and traditions, the International College of USTC organized a lively Chinese Corner event full of creativity and festive spirit.
Through hands-on activities such as traditional paper-cutting (窗花剪纸) and Spring Festival couplet rubbing (春联拓印), students explored the meanings behind classic New Year symbols while creating their own festive works.

From cutting paper into beautiful patterns to transferring auspicious words onto red paper, cultural learning came alive--vivid, interactive, and full of joy. Culture is best learned when it’s seen, touched, and shared ❤️

From January 19–22, USTC International College organized a Beijing study tour as part of the Understanding China through Action – Global Youth Leadership Program.
Through visits to cultural, historical, and scientific landmarks in Beijing, international students explored China beyond the classroom--gaining firsthand insight into its richcultural heritage, modern development, and spirit of innovation.
More than a study tour, the program fostered cross-cultural dialogue and mutual understanding, offering global youth a vivid and multidimensional view of China beyond textbooks.
