Enlighten the Future：2022 USTC FuSEP Global Online Summer Camp - Call for Application!

USTC Future Scientist Exchange Program (FuSEP) is a pack of incoming programs initiated by USTC with the aim to bring excellent young scientists all over the world together to exchange ideas for solutions to present world challenges through science and technology.
To assemble the best minds across the land, FuSEP Global Online Summer Camp, a two-week program, is organized to immerse students in a multi-culture, multi-disciplinary environment to explore how fantasy technologies enlighten our world. We invite undergraduates all over the world to join us for a series of colloquiums on cutting-edge topics in physical sciences, chemistry & materials sciences, biology& life sciences, artificial intelligence technology, and stories of China and Chinese culture.

What’s the program about?
FuSEP Global Online Summer Camp consists two sessions. Each session is a one-week online workshop, consisting of lectures, seminars and culture events. You may attend either or both sessions according to your interest. The program is conducted in English.

Session I: June 27 - July 1, 2022 GMT+8

How would you compose the future with frontier science and technology?

Join us in the 2021 USTC Future Scientist Exchange Program (FuSEP) International Online Summer Camp. Let’s enlighten the future in the adventure of innovation.

Gathering the best minds in interdisciplinary research, FuSEP will lead you through an incredible tour in science and technology without borders. You will have a unique opportunity to connect with USTC professors, expand your knowledge, and make friends with your Chinese peers without even leaving your living room.

— An encrypted message was sent a record-breaking 1,120 kilometers using a quantum science satellite (Micius) — a major step towards building a secure quantum internet. The previous record for this kind of communication is just 100 kilometres along a fibre optic cable. The achievement was jointly made by the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the University of Oxford. “I do agree that the actual implementation of a long-distance entanglement-based QKD protocol not relying on trusted nodes is a milestone,” says the referee of Nature.

- Chinese scientists are racing to build a wide field survey telescope - the most powerful of its class in the world - near the "Mars Camp" in Qinghai province. The instrument, built by the University of Science and Technology of China 中国科学技术大学 and the Purple Mountain Observatory, is called the Wide Field Survey Telescope, or WFST. It will be the most capable wide field survey telescope of its class north of the equator and will boast a 2.5-meter diameter optical telescope and a 750 million pixel 1.5 metric ton camera.
