Many students reach out to me about pursuing a PhD or Postdoc, so I wanted to share this essential roadmap for success! 🌍📚

If you’re a Master’s graduate looking to pursue a PhD in countries like Europe, Australia, the USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and beyond, here’s what you need to do:
1. Have a Clear Research Idea: You must have a specific, well-defined research topic in mind.
2. Find Research Groups & Professors: Look for professors and research teams who are working in the same field as your research interest.
3. Craft a Concise and Professional Email:
• Introduce yourself.
• Share your research interests.
• Highlight how your research idea aligns with their current work.
4. If Your Email is Strong: The professor may invite you for an interview to discuss your ideas further.
5. Getting Accepted: If they are impressed with your proposal, they may offer you a PhD or Postdoc position. 🙌

Important Points to Remember:
• Universities don’t control the admissions — it’s the professors who decide!
• You can apply any time of the year. 🎯

That shine and brilliance do not necessarily indicate precious minerals, so don’t be deceived by people’s appearances and outward forms.

That we should be like the surfaces of cleavage in minerals, no matter how lightly or severely people strike us, we can maintain a beautiful, consistent shape.

That minerals are distinguished by the elements they contain, just as we should be distinguished by the values and ethics we embody.

That fallen rocks don’t mean much to us; what matters is what remains in place. How beautiful it is to uphold our principles, morals, and faith.

That volcanoes only erupt after a long period of internal processes. Similarly, we should not explode with anger or frustration after every little setback.

That faults in nature are like wounds in the heart; if not treated, they grow deeper and wider, becoming like a vast chasm.

“الإنسان يرى السعادة دومًا حيث لا يكون.” — برنارد شو

تأملتُ كثيرًا في هذا القول، فوجدت فيه حقيقة عميقة نعيشها دون أن ننتبه. نحن بطبيعتنا نظن أن السعادة في مكان آخر، في زمنٍ آخر، في شيءٍ لم نملكه بعد. نُقنع أنفسنا أن “لو” تحقق شيء ما، لصرنا سعداء… لكننا لا نصل.

هذا البحث الدائم عن السعادة خارج اللحظة التي نعيشها يجعل حياتنا أكثر تعقيدًا، ويُفقدنا متعة الحاضر. ربما لو توقفنا قليلًا ونظرنا حولنا بامتنان، لاكتشفنا أن بعض السعادة كانت دائمًا معنا، لكنها كانت تنتظر فقط أن ننتبه لها.

I was reading about the “Spotlight Effect,” which made me think about how much this applies to people in our part of the world.

It is that feeling everyone is watching, noticing every little mistake, awkward moment, and flaw. It is like a giant spotlight on you; people analyze your every move. However, the truth is that no one cares as much as we think they do.

However, this feeling is amplified in so many cultures, especially in third-world countries. Maybe it is how we are raised, always told, “What will people say?” Maybe it is the pressure to appear “perfect” or the fear of standing out too much. However, how accurate is this, and how much is just in our heads?

It makes me wonder how many dreams were killed, how many voices were silenced, and how many chances were never taken just because someone thought the world was watching. When, in reality, everyone is too busy worrying about their spotlight to care about ours.

Why does this phenomenon rise in our countries?

بحث حديث نُشر في مجلة 𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 الصادرة عن Springer Nature يتناول الزيادة الأخيرة في سلاسل الزلازل المتتابعة وهي مجموعات من الزلازل التي تحدث بفواصل زمنية قصيرة جدًا داخل كالديرا كامبي فليجري في إيطاليا 🇮🇹. منذ عام 2021، تركزت هذه السلاسل في مناطق مرتبطة بنشاط المياه الحرارية الجوفية وتشوه سطح الأرض.

قام الباحثون بتحليل البيانات الزلزالية والجيوفيزيائية والجيوكيميائية لفهم العلاقة بين هذه الأحداث وارتفاع الكالديرا المستمر. وتشير نتائجهم إلى أن هذه السلاسل الزلزالية قد تكون ناجمة عن تغيرات في الضغط داخل النظام الحراري المائي، مما يوفر رؤى جديدة حول الديناميكيات المعقدة للمنطقة.
