Our U11 pupils delivered an outstanding performance at FOBISIA. For the first time in our school’s history, we placed in the top two in every event across three days, competing against seven other schools.

Football: gold
Swimming: silver
Athletics: silver
Teeball: silver

A special mention to Cola X., who set a new FOBISIA record in the 25m breaststroke.

This is a fantastic achievement and a credit to our young athletes’ dedication. Thank you to all colleagues and coaches who supported the team throughout training and the trip.

Last week, Carina Ma, our Head of Primary Pastoral, spoke as a workshop presenter at the 9th China Festival of Education in Shanghai. In her session, Beyond the Surface: A Holistic Approach to Wellbeing, Belonging and Sustainable Resilience in Schools, she explored how pupils’ behaviour and engagement can be shaped by underlying psychological needs. Drawing on case studies, she shared practical pastoral strategies that strengthen autonomy, competence and relatedness, helping pupils feel a stronger sense of belonging and build sustainable resilience over time.

We are proud to have colleagues who keep learning, connect with the wider community and bring fresh thinking back to our classrooms.

Last weekend, our Spring Fiesta: Family Sports and Camping Day brought our community together for an afternoon of sport, teamwork and time outdoors.

Families enjoyed an indoor badminton friendly match with the Transfar Group badminton team and other local teams, along with outdoor football, frisbee, golf and painting activities. On the lawn, our flame-free camping zone offered a calm space to pause, chat and make the most of the spring weather.

We value a warm, connected community, and we believe staff wellbeing is as important as pupil wellbeing. The day strengthened our team spirit and brought families closer together. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to the FOW parent community for making the day such a success.

Last weekend, our staff and parents travelled to Nantong campus for a Staff–Parents Sports Tournament, taking part in badminton and football.

Congratulations to our Hangzhou women’s doubles team on winning the championship again and to our teachers’ football team on securing second place.

It was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships across our community and connect with colleagues from across the group, on and off the pitch. Thank you to everyone who played, supported and helped with the organisation.
