Developing Talents to Shape the Future
As part of our strategy for developing talent and teams, we hosted a transformative CliftonStrengths training session on campus last week. We learnt together, bringing senior and middle leaders from across both our academic and non-academic teams together.
By understanding our collective strengths, we can foster an empathetic and cohesive leadership culture. We explored the unique talents each leader brings—whether in the classroom or behind the scenes.
A huge thank you to Dr Tao Wu for his expert guidance. With over 25 years at Gallup and experience consulting for 100+ companies across Asia, Dr Wu connected staff engagement to pupil success with remarkable clarity.

Graduation Ceremony 2026: Youth Grows Free, Into a Future Beyond
Recently, we celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2026. From the formal procession along Wellington Avenue to the ceremony in the theatre, it was a day marked by reflection, gratitude and pride.
Guided by our values of Kindness, Responsibility, Respect, Courage and Integrity, our graduates now step forward to universities around the world, carrying with them not only academic achievement, but also the character, friendships and sense of purpose shaped over time within our community.

On 23 June, our school hosted the Sports Awards Evening 2026 — a special celebration of achievement across our Primary and Senior Schools.
The evening began with a warm welcome, photographs and refreshments, followed by an awards ceremony recognising commitment, teamwork and sporting excellence throughout the year. Congratulations to all our award recipients, including the headline honours of Athlete of the Year and the newly introduced Lion and Lioness of the Year.
Thank you to our pupils, staff and families for the support that makes these successes possible.

In 2025 to 2026, we brought “Education as Action, Charity as Daily Practice” to life beyond classrooms and beyond campus. From taking our Charity Run and Fair into the wider community, to a sustainability led Flea Market, rural arts exchange, and the creation of a second school forest, giving became a daily choice. Family Days, cultural celebrations and sport strengthened companionship, while our talk series and parent communities deepened shared growth. Together, we are shaping a community defined by trust, purpose and collective action.

Our End of Year Staff Party on 18th June was a wonderful chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate all we’ve achieved together this academic year. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of several awards to colleagues and a team in recognition of their outstanding efforts—an opportunity to show genuine appreciation for the dedication, care and professionalism that underpin our school community every day.

Investing in Talent Development to Shape Our Future
We recently launched our Developing Talents to Shape the Future project, bringing together 15 educators from across phases to step beyond day-to-day roles and reflect on the bigger picture.
Focusing on identified 'Clifton Strengths' and through diverse perspectives, we explored how we individually lead and influence with vision and purpose. Through open sharing of practical strategies and insights, the session reinforced a simple truth: collaboration matters. By learning from one another, we strengthen our practice and continue to build an inclusive culture of excellence.

An unforgettable evening at the Annual String Orchestra Concert. Tango of the Azure Bow brought the pulse of Latin America to life — a vibrant expression of youth, energy, and emotion.
From ensemble pieces to solo performances, every pupil shone on stage. It was a moment that truly reflected their passion, perseverance, and growth.
A heartfelt thank you to all our staff and pupils for your dedication, support, and hard work in making the evening such a success.

We are proud to share new recognition from KingLead: our Nursery ranks No.1 in Hangzhou across major lists for the second consecutive year. We are also placed No.8 nationally in the China International Kindergarten Innovative Competitiveness Top 100·2026 and No.14 nationally in the Brand Value Top 100·2026. In addition, we were featured in the British Characteristic Top 10 · 2026 and Leadership Characteristic Top 10 · 2026, and the only nursery in Hangzhou (2nd in China) certified in the Curiosity Approach.

The Wellington Cup Aquatics Invitational on Saturday was an outstanding showcase of competitive Swimming and Artistic Swimming, delivered across a 14-hour programme with strong participation from clubs and schools.
The event was a success both in organisation and in results. Our swimmers topped the overall team score with 49 gold, 33 silver and 23 bronze medals, while our artistic swimming programme earned the Best Team Award and Best International School Award alongside 22 gold and 6 silver medals.
Achieving these outcomes in a field with so many high-performing teams is a significant accomplishment. Thank you to our aquatics staff, PE department, coaches, and the many volunteers who supported throughout the day.
Events of this standard also strengthen Hangzhou’s position as one of China’s most recognised cities for high-level aquatics competitions and the development of top swimming talent.
