ZCMUers Explore the World: Summer Study Tour — Vol. 3 🌍✈️

This summer, ZCMUers continued their global learning journey in Spain, Malaysia, and New Zealand, exploring medicine, life sciences, clinical practice, and cross-cultural exchange. ✨

In Spain🇪🇸, students visited the University of Valladolid. Through immersive learning at the clinical simulation center, hospital rotations, and TCM-themed presentations, they deepened their professional understanding, strengthened clinical thinking, and broadened their international perspectives.

In Malaysia🇲🇾, a study group of students from biomedical-related majors spent one month at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang. They engaged in frontier life science courses, laboratory medical experiments, Malay language learning, and cultural experiences, improving both professional skills and cross-cultural communication. 🧬🔬

In New Zealand🇳🇿, six medical students joined a four-week exchange at the New Zealand College of Chinese Medicine. Through classes, clinics, and visits to medical institutions, they learned TCM clinical skills while gaining insights into New Zealand’s healthcare system, Māori health culture, and the overseas education and practice of Chinese medicine.🌿🤝

ZCMUers Explore the World: Summer Study Tour — Vol. 2🌍✈️

This summer, ZCMUers continued their overseas study journey in Germany, Portugal, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, exploring global medical education, clinical practice, research innovation, and cross-cultural exchange.

In Germany🇩🇪, students joined a four-week program at Heidelberg University, where they experienced Germany’s advanced clinical concepts and healthcare system, and participated in the 2026 STMM Summer Symposium to discuss modern clinical practice and medical research innovation.🔬

In Portugal🇵🇹, students visited Instituto Piaget to learn about tuina, acupuncture, TCM diagnosis, and Tai Chi in Portuguese TCM practice, experiencing the localized development of TCM in Europe. 🌿

In Hong Kong🦷, students took part in a four-week study and internship program at the HKU Faculty of Dentistry, covering innovation courses, digital clinical training, research practice, visits to dental institutions, and exchanges with HKU doctoral students.

In Malaysia🇲🇾, students studied at Lincoln University College, taking part in academic lectures, laboratory practice, research data analysis training, and cross-cultural exchange to explore the dialogue between Chinese and Western medicine.🧪🌐

ZCMUers Explore the World: Summer Study Tour — Vol. 1 🌍✈️
This summer, ZCMUers set out on overseas study programs, gaining global perspectives on medicine, culture, and the integration of Chinese and Western medical practices.

In Portugal 🇵🇹, ZCMUers visited the University of Coimbra, where they explored the development of its Confucius Institute with TCM features, joined academic exchanges, and visited affiliated and community hospitals 🏥.

In Spain 🇪🇸, 27 medical students studied at the University of Valladolid, taking part in medical courses covering anatomy, immunology, biochemistry and AI 🧬🤖. Classroom learning, laboratory practice, and cultural visits deepened their understanding of European medical education and cross-cultural communication.📚🔬

In Malaysia 🇲🇾, 26 students began a four-week clinical exchange at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman. Through clinical rotations, hands-on practice, and lectures on traditional and integrative medicine 🌿, they experienced the diverse development of traditional medicine in Southeast Asia.

🌐Through these international study visits, ZCMU students broadened their academic horizons, strengthened professional understanding, and experienced the global vitality of Traditional Chinese Medicine and medical education ✨.

🙌In mid-July, the 5th Cross-Strait Youth TCM Culture Exchange Program was held in Hangzhou, bringing together young students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait for an immersive study journey into TCM.🌿

At the First Affiliated Hospital of ZCMU, participants joined clinical observations and learned about TCM diagnosis, acupuncture, tuina, and classical prescriptions. Through real clinical settings, they gained a deeper understanding of the heritage and practical value of TCM.🤝

The group also visited BGI Research in Hangzhou, where they explored advances in genomics, single-cell sequencing, and the integration of research, education, and industry. The visit offered students new perspectives on how modern life sciences and big data can support TCM research and innovation.

Through several days of learning and exchange, young participants experienced the connection between tradition and innovation in TCM development, strengthening cultural ties and shared commitment to the future of Chinese medicine.🤝❤️❤️

🙌On June 25, a delegation of over 30 teachers and students from The University of Hong Kong, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Hong Kong Baptist University visited for an academic and cultural exchange.✨

At ZCMU, the delegation learned about TCM clinical training, integrated Chinese and Western medicine practice, and ZCMU’s talent development model. At the Zhejiang Chinese Medicine Museum, the visitors explored TCM artifacts and authentic medicinal materials, gaining a deeper understanding of Zhejiang’s long-standing TCM heritage.🌿

During the exchange, students from both sides discussed TCM studies, clinical practice, and future innovation, building closer friendships through shared learning.

🚀ZCMU has continued to strengthen cooperation with universities in Hong Kong in recent years through student exchanges, academic visits, and TCM cultural programs. Looking ahead, ZCMU will further promote youth exchange, educational collaboration, and the global development of TCM.

🌍The 1st World Congress of Artificial Intelligence in TCM was held in Hangzhou on June 27–28, organized by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) and hosted by , bringing together 800+ experts from 28 countries and regions to explore the future of AI-powered healthcare.💡

Centered on the theme “Embracing the AI Era: TCM Intelligence for a Healthy Future,” the congress featured keynote speeches, round-table dialogues, parallel forums, and technology exhibitions. Experts from around the world exchanged ideas on AI applications in TCM drug discovery, clinical services, digital education, healthcare data, and smart hospitals, highlighting the growing role of AI in advancing TCM.🤖🩺
