TWIS Celebrates the Red Nose Day
Red Nose Day, an annual campaign dedicated to raising life-changing funds to help end the cycle of poverty and ensure children are safe, healthy, educated, and empowered across the U.S. and around the world, was celebrated with enthusiasm by our MYP 4 and 5 English Language and Literature students this year.
Our students took charge of planning the event, showcasing their creativity and organizational skills. They developed a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation to educate their peers about the significance of Red Nose Day, its origins, and the various fun activities associated with it.
The students highlighted that Red Nose Day was first celebrated in Australia in 1988, hosted by two comedians and aired on the BBC. This inaugural event raised over 15 million pounds in the fight against child poverty, setting a precedent for future celebrations.
The students also planned and executed a humorous performance titled 'A Surprise Quiz,' where they engaged the audience with unexpected questions, cleverly pretending to seek help but choosing the wrong answers to create a light-hearted and entertaining atmosphere.
