Good afternoon from BISS,
Today our children finished their boats based on the unit (Age of Exploration) they are learning. The boats are totally handmade by themselves and these boats can be floated on the water according to their experiments. Please joining us to give them a big applause around.
Have a great afternoon and evening. Cheers!

Welcome to BISS Daily Online Learning
In response to recent changes in the epidemic, following the directive of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, Beijing BISS International School once again launched online learning last Monday, January 25th. The subsequent resumption time will be determined in accordance with the requirements of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. In the meantime, our teachers provide high-quality online learning experiences that replicate the outcomes of classroom instruction. All students follow a regular schedule and interact with teachers and peers daily from 8:00 to 15:25. If you would like to learn more about our educational programs or would like to inquire about the possibility of admission during the period of online learning, please contact us at [email protected].
ONLINE LEARNING IN PRACTICE
As part of BISS online learning, students continue following their regular schedules. They log in every morning to talk to their homeroom teachers and classmates via video-conferences and then switch to relevant subject groups. They discuss the problems, contribute ideas, and provide peer feedback. Students even conduct science experiments, which they record and send to classmates for review and analysis. The children are busy - they are expected to submit assignments, practice and record dance moves assigned by the PE teacher, play home-made instruments, reading each others’ rhythm compositions, communicate with their classmates via video and chat, and take part in real-time quizzes, with each student typing their answer or showing their picture to the camera for all classmates to see. Online learning continues to cater to every student’s need to be both autonomous and interdependent, to be a thinker and a communicator, to be a risk-taker, and to be balanced.

Introduction of CNY
The Spring Festival is also called the Chinese Lunar New Year. Being one of the traditional Chinese festivals, it is the grandest and most important festival for Chinese people. It is also the time for whole families to get together, which is similar to Christmas for Westerners.
It comes on the first day of Chinese lunar calendar and lasts for almost half of a month. But in folk custom, this traditional holiday lasts from the 23rd day of the twelfth month to the 15th day of the first month (The Lantern Festival) on the lunar calendar.
In the special period of the epidemic, BISS still continues the tradition of the school for many years, holding the Spring Festival Celebrations on the last day of the school.
Enjoy the gallery of how students are taking in these valuable and memorable experiences. All BISS family members wish you lots of health, luck and good fortune in the New Year of the OX!
