The university has made tremendous contribution to cultivate outstanding youth leaders and public servants.
China Youth University for Political Sciences (CYU) was established on the basis of Central School of China Youth League which was founded and assigned with the task of educating youth leaders in 1948. President Hu Jintao and Vice Premier Li Keqiang were the former presidents of the university. Academics: CYU offers 14 undergraduate degree programs and 9 graduate programs in the areas of Law, Econ
omics, Sociology, Journalism, Chinese and English. In 2006, the university was designated by the Ministry of Education as one of National Bases for Liberal Arts Education. Students: CYU takes pride in its outstanding students. With its widespread reputation and the privilege of Early Admission program, CYU has attracted the best group of Chinese and international students. Currently, we have about 5000 undergraduates, 500 graduates and 200 international students studying on campus. International Cooperation: CYU has built academic and research exchange relations with universities in 20 countries including the US, UK, Russia, Germany, Canada, Japan, and South Korea etc and with international organizations like UN Economic and Social Commission, UN Children’s Fund, and World Bank. The School of International Education and Exchange is the administrative and academic department for international students. It offers General Chinese language and cultural courses, Intensive Chinese programs, and degree programs in International Economics and Trade (taught in Chinese or English) to international students. Currently, we have about 200 international students from various countries studying on campus. Campus: The campus is located in west third ring road of Beijing, close to dozens of major universities, the National Library, Beijing TV Station, CCTV, and China Theater. It enjoys convenient transportation and access to rich cultural and academic resources.
