We were thrilled to host this year’s U11 Basketball Tournament on our campus—a high-energy event that brought together 10 teams from 7 different schools for a full day of spirited competition and sportsmanship.
This tournament was more than just a series of games; it was a celebration of youth basketball and an incredible opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills, passion, and teamwork on the court. Our goal was to provide a platform for 11-year-old players to grow, compete, and be inspired—and they certainly rose to the occasion!
Throughout the day, the court echoed with cheers and encouragement from parents, students, and staff, creating an uplifting and supportive atmosphere. The presence of so many families also gave visitors a chance to experience the vibrant community and values of our school, further strengthening our connection with the wider educational community.
The success of this event would not have been possible without the collaboration of multiple departments, all working diligently to ensure the safety and smooth organization of the tournament. From logistics and facilities to security and medical support, every detail was thoughtfully prepared.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students, coaches, parents, and staff who contributed their time, energy, and enthusiasm to make this event a true success. Your dedication helped create not only a memorable day for our athletes but also a strong foundation for future events.
Let’s celebrate together the spirit of youth sports and continue to build experiences that inspire, connect, and empower our students both on and off the court.

We are proud to present Reflections – A Journey Through Self Portraits, our Middle School art exhibition currently on display at Oasis International Hospital until June 27. This special collection showcases the creativity, introspection, and growing artistic voice of our students.
Inspired by the timeless works of great artists such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Rembrandt, Paul Cézanne, Frida Kahlo, and many others, students embarked on a meaningful journey of self-discovery. Through studying a range of artistic styles and techniques, they explored what it means to represent oneself through art.
Each self-portrait in the exhibition is more than a drawing or painting—it is a visual expression of identity, emotion, and personal growth. In addition to creating their artwork, students were actively involved in the entire exhibition process—from planning and preparation to setting up the gallery space—making this a truly hands-on and collaborative learning experience.
We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition and experience the powerful reflections of our young artists. A heartfelt thank you to Oasis International Hospital for hosting this inspiring event, and to our dedicated art teachers, families, and school community for supporting our students on this creative journey.
Let these portraits remind us that art is not just about how we see the world, but how we see ourselves within it.

Last week, our Upper Elementary students embarked on an exciting educational field trip to the Chinese Ethnic Minority Park, where they had the opportunity to explore and learn about some of China's 55 ethnic minority groups. The park offered a hands-on cultural experience, showcasing the rich traditions, customs, and daily life of groups such as the Dai, Miao, Daur, Koreans, Qiang, D**g, and Tibetans. Through exhibits, architecture, and performances, students gained a deeper appreciation for the diversity that exists within China.
To make the experience even more engaging, students participated in a scavenger hunt that encouraged them to pay close attention to the unique features of each ethnic group. From spotting traditional clothing to identifying regional architecture, the hunt helped students interact with the exhibits in a fun and meaningful way. This activity encouraged critical thinking, observation, and curiosity, while reinforcing what they’ve been learning in class about Chinese history and culture.
Working in small groups, students collaborated with their peers to solve clues and complete learning challenges as they discovered various aspects of this historical site. Seeing the displays up close gave the students a more immersive experience. The field trip not only deepened their cultural understanding but also strengthened their teamwork skills.

Last week, AISB secondary and grade two students went on a fun and educational field trip to the Summer Palace in Beijing. This trip helped students learn more about Chinese history, culture, and art in a real-life setting.
The Summer Palace is a famous historical site and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has beautiful gardens, a large lake, and buildings that show the art and design of the Qing Dynasty. Students visited well-known places such as the Long Corridor, the Marble Boat, and the Tower of Buddhist Incense.
During the trip, students worked in small groups to complete different activities. They explored the site, took notes, and shared what they learned with each other. Some groups sketched parts of the palace, others took photos, and many reflected on what they saw in their journals.
“It was fun working together and seeing history in real life,” said by a Grade 10 student. “We learned a lot just by walking around and talking about it.”
The trip also gave students a chance to enjoy nature, spend time with friends, and experience a peaceful and beautiful part of Beijing. Everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch by the lake and took part in games and group discussions.
Thank you to the teachers, parents, and local guides who helped make this trip a great success. It was a wonderful day of learning, teamwork, and discovery.
