This Earth Day, students from the Calvert and Fairmont departments grades K-12 competed in two environmental challenges promoting conservation of our planet. The first challenge the students participated in involved turning recyclable materials into useful everyday objects such as creating a bird feeder from a plastic water jug. The idea is to find creative use for our waste and use our artistic abilities to lessen the garbage we create. The second challenge involved drawing a poster promoting the very best practices we all can do to help protect our planet.
We had dozens of responses from students and we were amazed by the students creativity! We want to thank all of our environmental conscious students for their participation in this years competition!

On April 10, 2019, a 35-member visiting group from the Bonus School in the United Kingdom visited Limai for friendly exchanges. This visit further strengthen the friendly exchanges between our school and international schools, promoting deep exchanges and cooperation in the fields of international education.

Principal of Limai Chinese American (International) School, Mr. Liu Xueyan, and other staff expressed warm welcome to the arrival of British friends. The exchange visit strengthened the friendly cooperation between our school and the British institutions, improved the level of international teaching in our school, and built a new international platform for students to expand their horizons and enhance their abilities.

The group toured the Yang Shan campus of our school, and gave a simple understanding of the teaching equipments and teachers of our school. During the period, we exchanged and interacted with the teachers and students of our school in pure English. The group praised on Limai's teaching achievements and students' comprehensive quality.

Limai Chinese-American International School attaches great importance to the individualized characteristics and development of each child, and focuses on cultivating international talents with Chinese cultural heritage. According to this educational concept, the school has opened a number of personalized courses for students to choose from. The unique Chinese Culture Studies is integrated into the daily classes of students.

The group participated in the characteristic Chinese Culture curriculum of our school - Chinese calligraphy, the teacher talked about the history and essence of Chinese calligraphy, and demonstrating the perfection of antiques by brush, ink and rice paper. The combination shows the humanistic spirit and national quintessence of Chinese calligraphy.

The group began to write with great enthusiasm, and under the guidance of the Teacher, they completed a calligraphy masterpiece full of international friendship.
Sand painting is a form of expression that combines fine sand with art. The creation of sand painting is mainly about the painter's technique and the unique image formed by sand and bottom light. It is spread and erased by sand. The glass back panel forms an ever-changing animation-like short film effect. This dynamic display of artistic expression is more vital than other art. As one of the individualized courses of our school, the school hopes to cultivate students' unique aesthetic perspectives on the patience of people, things and the discovery of life.

The trip to Limai left a deep impression to the British Bonus school group. Through this exchange activity, the two sides learned about the characteristics of their respective education and teaching, and established a friendly platform for the training of each other's International talents. At the same time, it also allows students to deeply understand the cultural connotations of the two countries and create a new form of international exchange of education.

It is believed that more exchanges between our school and domestic and international schools will lay the foundation for Limai students to have a global vision and become a multicultural citizen.

Under the leadership of the Student Union, the nine school clubs have officially began recruiting new members. The leaders of these groups have come on stage to introduce themselves and the positioning and activity planning of the group. The simple language, the innovative groups, the playful slogan, and the enthusiasm of the students who ignited the audience have expressed their feelings for each group. Interest, there is an impulse to sign up!

The leaders of the groups have raised their sleeves and passionatelyexplained to interested students about their club/team’s activities. The leaders were not shy to show their talents on the scene. Students admired their talents and rushed to register for the group of their choice.

The Anime Club:
I am Wang Zhenyu from AP grade 12. I am the leader of the club. The main activities are: appreciation of the works of anime, games and comics. In the 10 activities, students will be exposed to different kinds of anime and related works. During the appreciation, in addition to browsing a variety of works, students will choose appropriate works that meet different levels as a template for copying.

Fitness Club:
Good afternoon everyone! I am Liu Peng from Calvert 8-2. I am the person in charge of the Fitness Club. Our aim is cultivating physical coordination, strength, and endurance to make our bodies healthier and feeling happier. I hope everyone will participate actively; we are waiting for you to join!

News Edit Club:
Good afternoon everyone! I am Yang Yuyu from Calvert 8-2, and I am the leader of the club. During this semester, the teacher will lead us to produce two newspapers and develop our language and editing skills. I hope everyone will participate, thank you.

Basketball Team:
I am Zhao Jiachen from the Calvert 8.2. I am the person in charge of the basketball team this semester. The basketball team is a sports group based on individual, comprehensive basketball and physical abilityas well as team tactic understanding. We will regularly compete with basketball teams of other foreign schools and apply what we have learned for the competition.

4D Leadership Club:
Hello everyone, I am Zhou Zichun from Fairmont grade 8; I am the head of the 4D Leadership Club. The club will focus on independent planning based on event planning. During this time we will develop the ability of individual leadership and teamwork and play an important role in future society.

Rock Band Club:
Hello everyone, I am Miluoqi from Calvert 8-1. I am the person in charge of the Club. During this semester, the band teacher will teach you the knowledge of music and musical instruments. The main types of songs practiced during the semester include: rock, new age, hip-hop, and funk.

Badminton Team:
I am Gu Yuxuan from the Calvert 7 -1, andalso the head of the badminton team. The badminton team is a group established to enrich the after-school life of students, to stimulate the students' interest in sports, and to learn and improve their sports skills. We will train everyone's team spirit in groups and promote everyone's enthusiasm.

Chess Club
Dear everyone, I am Zhao Daqin from Calvert 8-1. Wang Mengzhi and I created this club together. This club is led by students. Our philosophy can be described by Confucius: " Among any three people walking, I will find something to learn for sure. We will learn good things from them and change bad things we have as well." Our goal is to allow students to learn through competition and communication with others.

American Drama Club
I am Wu Yinan from Calvert grade 7-2; the leader of the American Drama Club this semester. The American Drama Club focuses on film appreciation. The establishment of the club is the hope that everyone can learn about film, and feel the world by heart.

Winter camp in Carlifornia
During the first five days of the trip, the students was in Heritage Oak Private School Nine-year Le Cordon Bleu School. They learned and lived with local students in a English-speaking environment. They learn the customs, culture of different countries.

The students happened to catch up with the important festival - the romantic Valentine's Day.

On this day, the school held a ball Valentine’s Day for middle school students, and Valentine’s Day activities in classroom for primary school students. There is a warm and full of parent-child interaction, as well as the long-awaited Free Time of the students. The rich festive atmosphere makes the students ecstatic.

The school made an exception for Valentine's Day. The teachers and students of the school can come to the school with bright and favorite clothes. The middle school students can also prepare postcards and gifts for the TA that has always been favored, and can boldly express their long-lost emotions.

In the classroom, the students have been working hard to communicate with local students and get along well. They can not only express their ideas in English, but also adapt to the daily life of the school and the host family independently.

The physics teaching laboratory here has the most characteristic features. There are two underground floors. If you encounter a strong explosive experiment, even the teaching stairs will have a shock!

While enjoying the teaching environment, the students also exchanged views with the Chinese doctoral students studying abroad. Through the perspective of the compatriots of the motherland, they can understand the significance and value of American education. During the last 4 days of the study tour, the students went to the famous attractions to play together. It is the biggest gift for the children to enjoy the different cultures while playing.

The famous Universal Studios Cinema City allows children to experience the behind-the-scenes environment of Hollywood superstars behind the screen, as well as the human and material resources behind the brilliant special effects of international sci-fi blockbusters. There are many projects that can be experienced in the field. The children are enjoying the fun. At the same time, they also lament the joy and infinite possibilities that the rapid development of technology brings to modern people.

During the winter vacation in the United States, while the children are promoting knowledge and broadening their horizons, the most important thing is to gain their own determination and clear their own ideals. Children absorb the speed of knowledge like a sponge, communicate with the local people about their national culture, and quickly accept the habits of different countries. At that moment, watch the children go abroad and have a confident smile. I firmly believe that the future of the world belongs to you!

Foreign male teachers were dressed in suits and they are greeting the ladies by the door. The scent of spring, the delicious cake, the warm hot drinks and the gentleman's warm service all gave the ladies a special start of the busy working day.

If a woman is like a flower, then Limai Chinese-American International School is a garden with hundreds of flowers. There are fresh magnolias, beautiful daisies, beautiful sea otters, beautiful roses, and atmospheric peony... All the female staff gathered in the auditorium. They were talking and laughing. A opening video full of memories impressed the goddesses. Every festival in Limai is always so happy. The blessings from the leaders of Limai School are always so cute!

As the protagonist of the Goddess Day, representatives of female teachers from China and foreign countries delivered speeches respectively. They talked about their confidence as a modern woman and they have the courage to chase their dreams. They also said that they feel the warmth from Limai Family.

There was a super Surprise from the male foreign teachers! ! Not like the seriousness of them in the classroom, the handsome teachers was doing funny dances, in female costumes with cute expressions. They became a group of colorful ladies with dazzling makeup! Their gorgeous gestures, graceful figure, and fascinating dance made the female staff of Limai laughed hard.
