The organizing committee of WALS 2018 has decided to extend the deadline for proposal submissions to July 31, 2018. We encourage more educators to contribute their experience and ideas on lesson study to WALS 2018!

Yesterday, our vice secretary-general of preparatory committee, Shenji Zhou, was giving an introduction of WALS 2018 to experts from Acalanes Union High School District in San Francisco. We realize that in the SFUSD, about 20 percent of schools are using lesson study in some capacity. The practice is part of the district’s master teaching program.​ LS is really a worldwide catalyst for teacher learning and development! 😁

The World Association of Lesson Studies (WALS) International Conference 2018 will be held during November 23-26, 2018 at Beijing Normal University, China’s leading higher institution for educational studies and teacher education.

The theme of WALS 2018 is Lesson Study and Teacher Education: International Dialogue. It aims to provide a platform for an international and cross-cultural dialogue through which educators and researchers from different parts of the world can contribute to a broad vision for sharing their knowledge, understanding and experience of lesson study as a form of practice-based research.
