Chinese has many grammar structures and patterns that we rarely find in other languages. Take the Chinese character '把‘ (Bǎ) for example: many Mandarin learners struggle with using this word correctly, as it's often not similar to any word in their own native language. New Chinese Culture Shots taken this week! As you can see, it's a beautiful summer day in the urban jungle called Beijing. One thing that makes Beijing stands out, is the contrast between the districts: you can find yourself surrounded by sky-high ultra modern buildings one moment, and travelled back to the beginning of the 20th century the next because you just walked a few kilometers further.
Old and new, modern and traditional: Beijing has it all - A perfect reflection of the China as we know it today.
