Recently, Zhen Jin, from GCA’s partner institution, Northeast Forestry University, has successfully completed his internship at the Talent Development Academy for International Organizations.

“During my internship, I was fortunate to be invited as a representative of TDAIO interns to participate in the UNESCO International Mother Language Day event on February 20, 2026. Throughout the event, I listened attentively to the keynote speeches of the guests with a humble attitude, while actively seizing every opportunity for exchange and interaction, demonstrating the spirit and responsibility of Chinese youth. In particular, I had an in-depth and meaningful discussion with Mr. K, the current President of the UNESCO General Conference, on issues related to the preservation of the Hezhe language, a minority ethnic group in Northeast China.”

“This event coincided with the Chinese New Year, providing me with an excellent opportunity to share traditional Chinese culture with international friends. I met and got to know Ms. D, the president of the French branch of the World Organization for Early Childhood Education (OMEP), and Ms. L, the OMEP representative at UNESCO. We had a relaxed and enjoyable exchange on the customs, cultural connotations, and global dissemination of the Chinese New Year.”

“During my internship, we visited three core institutions: the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the European External Action Service. I had face-to-face exchanges with officials from each institution, gaining a deeper understanding of the EU’s operating model and policy orientation. At the same time, I asked questions and exchanged insights based on my own professional knowledge and areas of interest, which was very rewarding for me.”

Recently, Ms. Wang Xiaodan from Hefei University of Technology, a partner institution of GCA, has successfully completed her internship at the Talent Development Academy for International Organizations, Institute of Euro-Asian Culture.

"The most valuable part of my internship was the opportunity to participate in more than ten important UNESCO conferences, including the Paris Summit on AI Governance, international cross-regional cooperation meetings, and several global conferences related to combating domestic violence. These were no longer abstract international organization activities from textbooks, but real forums filled with clashing perspectives, global consensus, and disagreements. What impressed me most was the Paris Summit on AI Governance. I took part in the preparatory work, focusing on issues related to 'AI ethics and legal regulation.' I was responsible for liaising with participants and compiling their information into a structured database. I also contributed to drafting background materials for the summit, refining sub-forum agendas, and organizing a collection of global case studies on sustainable AI development."

"The atmosphere in international organizations is truly exceptional-open, inclusive, and highly collaborative. My supervisor, who is French, patiently guided me through challenges and shared his insights on international affairs with our team. Additionally, my professional skills have improved significantly. As my research focuses on international law and AI law, a global perspective is essential. This internship has broadened my horizons and allowed me to better translate theoretical knowledge into practical outcomes. My language skills have also advanced noticeably. Daily communication with my supervisor and drafting materials in English have markedly enhanced my listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities, particularly in terms of terminology usage and fluency within a professional context."

Recently, Niu Zhiyu, a student from Tianjin University of Technology, a partner institution of GCA, successfully completed his internship at the World Toilet Organization.

“I am someone who likes to broaden my horizons. For me, participating in an internship at an international organization is not only a form of training but also an opportunity to connect with the world and understand different cultures and ideas. When I learned about the World Toilet Organization's efforts in promoting global sanitation, I was deeply attracted to it. When I learned about the opportunity to intern with the organization, I applied without hesitation. After several rounds of assessments, I was fortunate to receive this internship opportunity.”

“During this internship experience, I deeply appreciated the importance of collaboration. For example, in the process of video production, there were some aspects I wasn't good at, so I would proactively ask my supervisor for guidance. And when others needed text or data support, I would do my best to help. Through continuous communication and exchange, I not only solved many practical problems but also gained a lot of trust and support. This team atmosphere made me feel very warm.”

“The international organization internship broadened my horizons and gave me a more intuitive understanding of global public health. Toilet sanitation may seem like a small problem in daily life, but in many developing countries, it is closely related to people's health and dignity. Through this period of learning and practice, I have also become more clearly aware of the significant room for improvement I have in areas such as data analysis and cross-cultural communication.”

Recently, Yizhou Xu, from GCA’s partner institution, Hainan University, has successfully completed her internship at the AEA-International Lawyers Network.

“When I received the internship offer from AEA, I was filled with anticipation for an international work environment. However, when I was actually immersed in this vast network connecting top law firms in 195 countries around the world, I realized that ‘globalization’ is not an abstract concept, but a sophisticated system built from countless precise emails, countless cross-time zone communications, and countless specific and small tasks. This internship experience allowed me to become a small but active node at the end of this system.”

“Looking back on my time at AEA, I gained far more than just a few lines of experience on my resume. First, I developed a direct understanding of how global professional services networks operate. I witnessed firsthand that an efficient international network is not maintained by rigid directives, but by shared values, standardized processes, and continuous high-quality communication. My role was precisely that of the ‘lubricant’ ensuring the smooth flow of information within this vast machine. Second, my professional ethics were rigorously honed. In handling transnational administrative matters, extreme importance and absolute patience are both indispensable. An error in a recipient list could prevent information from reaching key law firms; a vague wording could lead to unnecessary misunderstandings. This experience honed me into someone more meticulous, detail-oriented, and responsible.”
