The Pan African Virtual and E-University (PAVEU), Agenda 2063's flagship project for democratizing African higher education, is partnering with Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi , Italy’s first digital university.

This collaboration will strengthen PAVEU's capacity to deliver quality online education across Africa, leveraging Italy's digital education expertise.

Together, we're building bridges that connect continents through technology and shared commitment to accessible, excellent education for all.

FAO E-LEARNING ACADEMY CONNECTION !

The FAO E-Learning Academy's presence at today's conference meeting between the Pan African University - African Union Commission and Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi opens exciting possibilities.

With over 600 free multilingual courses reaching 600,000+ users globally, FAO's expertise in online capacity development complements PAVEU's mission perfectly.

FAO already partners with universities worldwide, including UNIMARCONI.

Potential collaboration could integrate FAO's agriculture, food security, and sustainable development courses into PAVEU's offerings, strengthening Africa's capacity in these critical areas while advancing SDG 4: quality education for all.

Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, through R&D Director Arturo Lavalle, unveiled an ambitious futur fundraising process for €368,000, 24-month project: developing an Open Toolkit for designing and delivering online Master's programs on Artificial Intelligence in Africa.

The initiative includes curriculum design, online course development, infrastructure setup, and establishing a community of practice for sharing resources.

This collaboration demonstrates Europe's commitment to building Africa's capacity in cutting-edge technologies through accessible, quality digital education.

In un contesto globale in cui l’Africa sta assumendo un ruolo sempre più centrale nei processi di sviluppo sostenibile, innovazione e cooperazione internazionale, la trasformazione digitale e la formazione avanzata rappresentano leve decisive per costruire un futuro inclusivo e competitivo.

Il 17 dicembre 2025, l’Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi organizzerà il meeting “Strengthening Africa–Europe Cooperation through Digital Education and Capacity Building”, un’importante piattaforma di dialogo tra Europa e Africa dedicata allo sviluppo del capitale umano, al rafforzamento delle capacità istituzionali e accademiche e alla digitalizzazione dei sistemi educativi.

L’evento nasce nell’ambito dell’accordo di cooperazione tra Unimarconi e la Pan African University (PAU), l’università ufficiale dell’Unione Africana, e sarà anche l’occasione per presentare la roadmap operativa delle iniziative congiunte tra le due istituzioni.

Questa collaborazione si inserisce pienamente nelle priorità strategiche dell’Unione Africana e nelle linee del Piano Mattei, che valorizzano istruzione, innovazione e partenariato come pilastri per una cooperazione equa e di lungo periodo.

Strengthening Africa–Europe Cooperation through Digital Education and Capacity Building

In a global context in which Africa is taking on an increasingly central role in processes of sustainable development, innovation, and international cooperation, digital transformation and advanced training represent decisive levers for building an inclusive and competitive future.

On 17 December 2025, Guglielmo Marconi University will host the meeting “Strengthening Africa–Europe Cooperation through Digital Education and Capacity Building”, an important platform for dialogue between Europe and Africa dedicated to the development of human capital, the strengthening of institutional and academic capacities, and the digitalization of educational systems.

The event is part of the cooperation agreement between Unimarconi and the Pan African University (PAU), the official university of the African Union, and will also serve as an opportunity to present the operational roadmap of the joint initiatives between the two institutions.

This collaboration aligns fully with the strategic priorities of the African Union and the guidelines of the Mattei Plan, which emphasize education, innovation, and partnership as pillars for fair and long-term cooperation.

Pan African University in Italy !

Dr. Eric Tambo presented the UNIMARCONI-PAU Operational Roadmap today in Rome.

Key actions include:

✅Digitizing PAU institutes' master's programs, developing joint courses,

✅Creating AI toolkits for African universities and secondary schools,

✅Establishing remote laboratories,

✅Securing European accreditation for PAVEU's online programs, and activating summer/winter schools.

This comprehensive roadmap, if supported by joint fundraising efforts, will position PAU at the forefront of Africa's digital education transformation.

Today, the Pan African University delegation is in Rome for an important conference with Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi on "Strengthening Africa-Europe Cooperation Through Digital Education and Capacity Building."
This partnership brings together Africa's premier postgraduate network with Italy's first digital university.
The event, attended by diplomatic representatives from Cameroon, Nigeria, Lesotho, Guinea and DRC among others, as well as institutions such as the Migrant Center, marks a significant milestone in implementing the Mattei Plan's vision for education-centered Africa-Europe cooperation.
