Revisiting our Bootcamp in Foumban!!

This month, we had the privilege of hosting a transformative Preparedness Bootcamp in Foumban, West Region of . The event attracted over 200 enthusiastic young individuals, all eager to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to carve out successful career paths.

Throughout the training, these young participants engaged in a variety of activities designed to equip them with essential skills. From interactive workshops to insightful discussions with industry experts, every moment was a step towards building a brighter future.

Their active participation and eagerness to learn not only demonstrated their individual drive but also symbolized a collective hope for positive change in our economy. These young minds are not just preparing for their own futures; they are paving the way for a more prosperous and dynamic world.

Dr. Denis Foretia, Executive Chairman of the Nkafu Policy Institute, joined think tank leaders and policy experts from around the world at the OTT Conference 2024 in Barcelona. This year's theme, "Think Tanks and Their Communities," explored how these influential organizations can deepen and collaboration with the people they serve.

During the conference which was held from May 21-22, Dr. Foretia urged think tanks to embrace transformative change for inclusive digital progress. His vision? Integrate new disciplines, amplify grassroots voices, and create evidence-based policies to bridge divides.

Advocating for , he highlighted the need to embed digital experts, forge cross-disciplinary partnerships, and restructure funding models. His insights enriched vital on pioneering participatory, inclusive .

Happy to announce that Dr. Jean Cedric Kouam , Director of Economic Affairs at the Nkafu Policy Institute, is participating in the 58th Annual Conference of the Canadian Economics Association (CEA), scheduled from May 30 to June 1, 2024. The event is organized by the Canadian Development Economics Study Group (CDESG) in collaboration with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) at the Metropolitan University of Toronto.

During this prestigious conference, Dr. Kouam will present his recent research work, including the findings of an IDRC-funded study titled "Duration of Support and Financial Health of Business Support Structures in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, and Ghana: A Micro-Econometric Analysis." This important research, conducted by the Nkafu Policy Institute between September 2020 and August 2022, measures the probability of financial challenges faced by support structures based on their characteristics, services, and technical capacities.

We are proud of Jean Cedric Kouam's contribution to advancing knowledge in the field of development economics and look forward to the insights he will share at this conference.
