Some days back, I was reading a book titled Black and Beautiful by Ayo Vaughan-Richards.

In this book, Ayo Vaughan-Richards highlights how Black and possess inner beauty that goes beyond physical appearance, expressed through resilience, wisdom, compassion, and leadership.

The book encourages women to embrace their identity, heritage, and natural beauty with confidence.

Through its message, it challenges stereotypes and affirms that women play a powerful role in shaping families, preserving culture, and influencing society.

Reading through it reminds me that the true power of a woman lies in her character, courage, and ability to inspire positive change in her community and future generations.

And today, the 8th of March, which is International Women’s Day, while I sat reflecting on the great exploits that women have accomplished being Presidents, Governors, CEOs, Managers, and so much more, while still fulfilling their motherly duties, I say our women are indeed true African beauty.

Today, we celebrate the dignity, strength, and cultural pride of the African woman.
