🔥 WHAT IF THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WASN’T THE STORM… BUT WHAT WE CHOOSE TO LOOK AT DURING THE STORM?
Sometimes life feels like a stormy sea. 🌊
A salary that is no longer enough.
A health problem that worries the whole family.
Growing debts.
A child whose future keeps you awake at night.
A project that is not moving forward.
A door that closes when you thought you had finally found a way out.
And sometimes we ask:
“God, where are You?”
This Sunday, August 9, 2026, the Gospel reminds us of something deeply human: fear can make us lose sight of hope.
In Matthew 14, Peter steps out of the boat and walks toward Jesus on the water. As long as he keeps his eyes on Jesus, he moves forward. But when he focuses on the wind and the waves, he begins to sink.
👉 How often do we do the same in our daily lives?
We start a project with courage… then we look at the difficulties.
We decide to forgive… then we remember what was done to us.
We want to take better care of our health… then we keep postponing that check-up.
We want to change our lives… then we compare ourselves with others.
We want to start a business… then fear of failure stops us.
❤️ THE LESSON FOR THIS SUNDAY?
Do not allow the size of your storm to determine the size of your faith.
This does not mean that problems are not real.
It means that our problems should never become bigger than our hope.
And there is another powerful lesson: when Peter begins to sink, he cries out for help.
He does not pretend to be strong.
He asks for help.
👉 Asking for help is not weakness.
Sometimes we need to learn to say:
“I need help.”
“I need advice.”
“I need a health screening.”
“I need someone to talk to.”
“I cannot carry everything alone.”
That is also part of caring for ourselves and caring for others. ❤️
