The Ashinaga Africa Initiative began in 2014. Its mission is to contribute to sub-Saharan Africa’s expanding role in global development through increasing access to higher education abroad. We support orphaned students who are committed to returning home and initiating change, by providing access to full financial support to study at a university abroad (equivalent to an undergraduate degree). To carry out a market study on payment methods for our daily purchases, we are looking for 4 young people for data collection in the cities of Douala and Yaoundé respectively (2 young people per city), for a period of 2 weeks. Female candidates are strongly encouraged.
Role: Collect data from owners of shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries...
Job Overview
We need someone to help us collect onsite data. This data will be recorded directly online by filling a questionnaire prepared by the BD. This questionnaire will be filled during discussion with small business owners such as restaurants, bars, shops and others around the Yaoundé or Douala neighborhood.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Meet a minimum of 300 small business owners within 2 to 3 weeks
· Fill up the google online survey questionnaires during the discussion
Qualifications
· Minimum 2nd year in the university majoring in Marketing/Economical Science/Statistics.
· Should have a laptop or an iPhone/Android connected to the internet.
· Should be versed with basic IT skills.
· Good and convincing interviewer skills.
Salary: 15,000 FCFA + Bonus depending on the quality of the rendering. Tasks and responsibilities: Using a computer/tablet/phone connected to the internet, collect information from owners of shops, restaurants, bars and bakeries, for a cumulative total of 300.
Location of the position: Yaoundé and Douala, (two people per city).
Duration: 2 Weeks
Other: 2000 francs for internet costs and 3000 for taxi costs for the determined period.
Profile Requirements:
** Bacc+2 student in statistics / Economics / Marketing;
** Be in possession of a laptop / android phone / tablet;
** Able to use computer tools (Internet);
** Express yourself perfectly in French and/or English;
Desired qualities:
** Be professional
