Some images of the visit to Cameroon (YaBiNaPA SDG Graduate School, MINRESI and IRAD) from October 28th to November 4th, 2023 of Prof SINTAYEHU YIGREM Mersha, Coordinator of the CLIFOOD German-Ethiopian SDG Graduate School and also Director of the School of Animal and Range Sciences, College of Agriculture at Hawassa University Ethiopia.

Other PhD students trained in the framework of the YaBiNaPA SDG Graduate School defended their PhD theses at University of Yaoundé I. They are ready to contribute to the sustainable valorization of Cameroonian plants with antibacterial and/or antiparasitic potential.

Another important event at YaBiNaPA SDG Graduate School and CECANAPROF this week. On Wednesday 31st May 2023, join us at the Higher Teacher Training College of the University of Yaoundé I for the sixth seminar session of the year 2023.

As announced earlier, the joint YaBiNaPA and CECANAPROF seminars were held yesterday, Wednesday 24th and today Thursday 25th May 2023 at the HTTC of the University of Yaoundé I. In these seminars, students presented the progress of their work and reviews on innovative research topics.

After the National Unity Day, we are holding two successive seminars this week at the Higher Teacher Training College of the University of Yaoundé I, on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th May 2023.

The YaBiNaPA SDG Graduate School organized its forth network meeting held from 06th to 10th February 2023, which took place at the Higher Teacher Training College of the University of Yaoundé I, on the theme: ‘‘The importance of data management for the sustainable valorization of bio-resources: Specific case of medicinal plants’’. This meeting was attended by a large community of researchers from Cameroonian and foreign Universities, including Prof. Bruno Lenta (University of Yaounde I, Cameroon, Coordinator of the YaBiNaPA project in Cameroon), Prof. Norbert Sewald (University of Bielefeld, Germany, Coordinator of the YaBiNaPA project in Bielefeld), Prof. Syed Ghulam Musharraf (International Center for Chemical and Biological sciences ICCBS, University of Karachi, Pakistan); Prof. Kerstin Andrea Marobela (University of Botswana), Prof. Cynthia Aamanding Danquah (Kwame Nkruma University of science and technology, Ghana), the representative of DAAD, Mrs. Dorothee Schwab and many other guests. The 5 days spent at the HTTC campus was rich in lectures, oral presentations and posters with the overall objective being the importance of a database management in the field of medicinal plant research. All these activities took place under the high patronage of the Rector of the University of Yaoundé I, represented by the Vice rector in charge of Research and cooperation with the Business world. The conference was a great success and the appointment was made for 2024 for the 5th Edition.

The Humboldt Research Hub-CECANAPROF is organizing a third workshop on the collection, identification and culture of fungal strains, and good laboratory practices at the Higher Teacher Training College, University of Yaoundé 1, from April 12-14, 2023.

👩‍🔬 Vanessa Charnele Tsafack interessiert sich für pflanzliche Medizin, die zur Behandlung von Infektionskrankheiten wie Cholera, Lungenentzündungen und Tuberkulose eingesetzt wird. Für ihre Promotion erforscht sie mit der YaBiNaPa Graduate School in den Laboren der Uni Bielefeld die antimikrobiellen Eigenschaften von Bäumen aus Sub-Sahara-Afrika.
