*Le Café Bilingue : un espace de rencontre littéraire et de convivialité*

Depuis mars 2025, les enseignants de lettres bilingues se rassemblent chaque mois autour d'un livre choisi avec soin pour discuter, échanger et partager leur passion pour la lecture. Le Café Bilingue, c'est le nom de ce club, a pour objectif de reconcilier les enseignants, et pourquoi pas, les autres avec la lecture.

Ce 26 décembre marque la fin de cette année riche en rencontres et en découvertes littéraires. Le roman "The River Between" de Ngugi wa Thiongo a été le dernier roman à l'ordre du jour. Mais la soirée ne s'est pas limitée à la discussion autour du livre. Les enseignants se sont également livrés à des activités ludiques, telles que le karaoké et un échange de cadeaux, pour joindre l'utile à l'agréable.

Les participants se sont prêtés au jeu avec enthousiasme et alacrité, tels les personnages des romans qu'ils ont lus. L'ambiance était conviviale et chaleureuse, preuve que le ''Café Bilingue'' est bien plus qu'un simple club de lecture.

L'aventure ne s'arrête pas là ! Les '' caféistes'' sont déjà impatients de recommencer en 2026, avec une programmation qui s'annonce trépidante. Le climax de l'année sera la célébration du premier anniversaire du Café Bilingue, qui aura lieu en avril 2026. Rendez-vous est pris pour de nouvelles rencontres littéraires et de nouvelles aventures !

Le Café Bilingue, c'est un espace où la lecture, la convivialité et la créativité se rencontrent et se conjuguent. C'est un espace où les enseignants et les amoureux de la littérature peuvent se rassembler pour partager leur passion et se ressourcer. Alors, à l'année prochaine pour de nouvelles découvertes littéraires et de nouvelles aventures !

Yesterday, October 5th, teachers all over the world commemorated the teacher's day.

It is our pleasure to present outstanding teachers who make teaching and learning enjoyable.

Meet NGOULGA NDZANA Charles Joseph a.k.a. Uncle Charles.

Ngoulga Ndzana Charles Joseph teaches English and French to speakers of other languages. He got his degree from the Higher Teachers Training College at the University of Yaounde 1 in Cameroon.

For about 20 years, he has been teaching English and French as second languages in both public and private schools in Cameroon, where many languages and cultures are spoken. He has been a school administrator for 13 years during his long career as a teacher.

Mr. Ngoulga Ndzana is very involved in COD. He is working closely with other teachers to make a difference in teachers through Continuing Professional Development Programs (CPD). He started and runs a program called Monday Administration, which teaches teachers the best ways to run a school.

Mr. Ngoulga Ndzana is the Vice President N°2 of the Cameroon Bilingual Letters Teachers' Association. He was the vice president of the first National Conference on Official Languages in Cameroon in 2021 and a member of the secretariat for the International Conference on Bilingualism at the University of Douala. He is also a digital teacher and a certified British Council English Club Coordinator. He also has a certification in Project Planning Management from the CADD SKILLS CENTRE in a different area.

Tout comme les salles de classe s'ouvrent dans l'étendue du territoire national aujourd'hui, nous vous prions d'ouvrir vos bras et cœurs pour accueillir le nouveau bureau exécutif de notre association.

Do you know what is special about bilingual teachers?

Yes! Bilingual teachers are very special. From their selection to their training at the Higher Teacher's College, they're known to be special.

During our annual conference in Limbe, Jean Etapa did not fail to highlight this unique skill of bilingual teachers to navigate between languages and contexts: EFL (English as a Foreign Language), EOL (English as an Official Language), French as an Official Language, and FLE (French as a Foreign Language), while presenting on "Managing the Teaching of Intensive English in an EOL context".

Madam Meulikouo Christine introduced us to !, an interactive game-based learning platform, during the just-concluded annual conference in Limbe.

In her presentation, 𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕: 𝑨𝑰 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝑻𝒐𝒐𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝑬𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, she drilled participants on how to use gamification technologies to assure evaluation ethics and integrity while also enhancing students' motivation and engagement in language classrooms.

AI and Translation: The End of the Translation Profession ? By Dr. Destin Feutseu Dassi .

This presentation informs us that AI has not come to replace teachers but to work in collaboration with them especially in the domain of translation. It introduces us to different translation apps we can use in our classrooms when teaching translation.

She introduces us to the mozilla common voice app that we can use in our classrooms to enhance intercultural learning and diversity.
