WHAT IS FOREX TRADING AND HOW CAN ONE MAKE MONEY FROM IT?

Have you used a foreign currency before? Well if you have, then you must have participated in the Forex(FX) market.

If you are living in Cameroon and want to buy goods from the United States, you need to pay in U.S. dollars. This means that a Cameroonian importer would have to exchange the equivalent value of XAF for U.S. dollars (USD). This is the same at the airport if you want to travel abroad. Factors like interest rates, trade flows, tourism, economic strength, and geopolitical risk affect the supply and demand for currencies, creating daily volatility in the forex markets. An opportunity exists to profit from changes that may increase or reduce one currency’s value compared to another. A forecast that one currency will weaken is essentially the same as assuming that the other currency in the pair will strengthen because currencies are traded as pairs and a trained trader can make money from that at home just with a smartphone and a computer.

Imagine a trader who expects interest rates to rise in the United States compared to Australia while the exchange rate between the two currencies (AUD/USD) is 0.71 (i.e., it takes $0.71 USD to buy $1.00 AUD). The trader believes higher U.S. interest rates will increase demand for USD, and the AUD/USD exchange rate therefore will fall because it will require fewer, stronger USDs to buy an AUD. Assume that the trader is correct and interest rates rise, which decreases the AUD/USD exchange rate to 0.50. This means that it requires $0.50 USD to buy $1.00 AUD. If the investor had sold the AUD and bought the USD, then they would have profited from the change in value.

FACTS💎

The hardest part in learning is some times unlearning what you already know. I've seen this in most people that I've worked with; those who start as beginners are doing far better than those with prior trading experience.

However, we need to realise that those who are beginners, are starting as a blank slate. Where as the others are learning a new skill on top of their current skill. The issue is, this process of re-learning can seem like a step back. This is incredibly difficult to overcome however it is a natural behaviour.

Another issue is being too stable. We need to realise that there is always more to learn. Those struggling to accept this, will struggle going forward. Not just in trading but in life as a whole. You need to find the balance between being stable/secure and being able to adapt to change. This balance is hard to develop as some of us can be stubborn and sit in our ways. But it is this very balance, that allows us to be in control and secure in our skill whilst being alert and prepared to engage with any changes. This allows you to master your chosen skill as well as being open to improve yourself. The only way you find your balance is being honest with yourself in the first place.

As always, like I say with all bed time stories. Appreciate yourself, your loved ones and those around you. Love one another and love the life that's gifted to you and learn to enjoy and find peace in what you currently have. Most of us, being able to just read this post, are in a much better position than others but rarely do we appreciate it.

If what you seek is success, know that it doesn't come easy, it comes through sweat, tears, late nights, early mornings, and pain.
