Entrance into the 1st and 3rd year of the School of Chemical Engineering and Mineral Industries (EGCIM) of the University of Ngaoundéré has been launched. The entrance examination will be written on the 23rd of October 2021. Preparatory Classes offered by UNASA will begin on the 20th of July 2021 in the towns of Buea and Bamenda.

Studying in EGCIM gives you the choice of four departments:

1. Analytical and Computer aided Engineering.
2. Mineral engineering
3. Material Engineering
4. Industrial Chemistry and Bio-process Engineering.

Those willing to compete for entrance into the 3rd year must be holders of a Bachelors degree in chemistry, Biochemistry and physics or holder of a higher diploma in Technology (Diplome Universitaire de technologie, DUT) as well as any other diploma or certificate Judged by the Ministry of higher education to be eligible. Those willing to go in for the first year should be holders of a GCE advanced level in Science subjects. It is possible to be admitted into the school by study of files but for this option the school fees is one million francs.

EGEM (École de Géologie et de Exploitation Minière) or schoool of Geology and mining Engineering is a school that provide professional training in petroleum and mining Engineering.
This institute went operational in 2012 with just the mining sector and latter with the creation of the petroleum domain. From 2012 till resent date , the school has undergone changes in the organigramme of the difference fields, departments and specialities.
As for the Mining field, we have first;

The Department of mining geology with speciality like
- Mining Geology exploration
-Mining geochemistry
-Mining geostrusture
-Mining geostatistics
-Mining geophysics

Department of mining Engineering (Genie Minière)
- Mining and Geotechnic exploitation
- Extraction Metallurgy (mineralogy)

Department of Geomatics and cartography
-Mining Cartography and Geomatics

Department of Petroleum and Gas Engineering (PGE)
- Drilling Petroleum Engineer
-Reservoir Engineer
-Exploration petroleum and gas Engineer
-Refinage petrochemistry

Department of Quality Hygiene , Security and Environment(QHSE)
-QHSE liquid (for PGE students)
-QHSE solid (for mining students)

The formation is 5 years and you obtain a diploma of "CONCEPTIONAL ENGINEER " and exploit different opportunities. Or you can still chose to continue with another program called MASTERS IN RESEARCH
which is for a year. Finally you can choose to follow up with your PhD studies.
As for the concour , we have those who come in level 1 and some who come in Level 3 those who enter in level three are those who have a degree or other related licence equivalent to a degree in sciences and level ones are those who enter with GCE A/level or baccalaureate in science.
During concour section, there is no distinction in the exams papers that is all the level 1 and 3 writing the concour have the same exam questions. The concour date is usually within mid or ending September.

Promoting Academic Excellence is the major goal of UNASA. But however, we are careful to see that our members are fully equipped to face the world after the classroom. A perfect day with the perfect company 'UNASA' hits the road to visit the Tello waterfall here in Ngaoundere. Everyone felt totally at ease and away from daily school routine. All we could find was fun, enjoyment, fun, relaxation and exploration of nature. We would like to thank all those that made this event a success. There's nothing better than hanging out with people who matter the most to us. These precious moments make unforgettable memories which we cherish for life.
We are only as strong as we stay united.

UNASA Meeting 14th February 2021
The meeting was chaired by Alfaki Giresse(President) and Nzeh Elise-Marie(Secretary General), with key moments like:
-The business opportunity presented to everyone concerning the conservation of Irish potatoes (contact us if you have a conservation method and win this project).
-A talk from Ayako Endaly on the theme "Leaving together and taking hold of opportunities". He said " love is a determining factor of leaving together ", he further cite examples like; accommodation of new students by UNASA members , Organisation of pre-defense for final year students.
-We also had in our midst two of our matrons Miss Calister and Miss Claude , together they inaugurated gifts from the former bureau which included ; 10 benches , a large pot, 24 plates and 24 spoons.
We then concluded with programming of our next meeting , this is an outdoor meeting and relaxation time at Tello Falls on the 14th of March 2021.
