The upcoming ACCB 2024 Theme and Sub Themes

The main theme during the ACCB 2024 is: Celebrating Africa’s Unsung Conservation Heroes: Rangers and Local Communities at the Frontline._

This theme has four sub themes which are the building blocks of the main theme and are:

Sub-Theme 1: African Protected Areas, Wildlife Corridors, and 30/30: The Role of Our Rangers and Local Communities

Sub-Theme 2: Coexistence or Conflict: The Role of Community-led Conservation in Africa.

Sub-Theme 3: Capacity Building and Training for Conservation in Africa.

Sub-Theme 4: Safeguarding Biodiversity in a Changing Climate: The Vital Role of Conservation Biology and Indigenous Knowledge.

With all these key areas that will shape the ACCB 2024, it is surely going to be a huge milestone in conservation in Africa which eventually will create synergy in all conservation efforts and leaving no key player behind. Are you seeking funding for a conservation project? Are you hoping to reduce threats facing endangered species? People's Trust for Endangered Species (PTES), a UK-based charity, receives a high number of applications for conservation grants each year. Priority is given to applications that either: i) provide evidence that their methods work, or ii) describe how conservation actions will be tested, with test results shared amongst the conservation community e.g. through the Conservation Evidence Journal.
PTES will be running two workshops to support applicants and others to find evidence and test their conservation actions. Dates for workshops a 9th July (3-4pm BST) and 11th July 10-11am (BST). Visit https://ptes.org/grants/apply-grant

This shared effort will develop local food systems to advance environmental protection, strengthen local economies and further sustainability goals.
