đđ Hello December!
Our final monthly greeting for the year;
Dear esteemed readers,
As 2025 draws to a close, hereâs a brief Jbbling Business Portfolio recap of where Africa stands at a socio-economic level.
Statistics show that the year brought modest but steadily improving growth, with many countries recovering from earlier slowdowns.
For everyday Africansâshopkeepers, traders, and small business ownersâone of the biggest reliefs has been better price stability, especially for essentials like fuel and transportation costs.
Costs of small commodities arenât rising as sharply this year end, giving families and small businesses a bit more breathing room and much-needed predictability.
Itâs not a boom, but itâs real progress.
Bottom line: Sub-Saharan Africa heads into 2026 on firmer, more hopeful footing, with growth expected to pick up in the year ahead.
âAnd then came December⊠â
A time to pause, reflect, and welcome a season of renewed hope đ, a time for togetherness.
Wishing everyone a Merry Decemberâmay your days be filled with laughter and cherished moments âš

Back to school szn already? đ
hello September
Itâs that time of year again - back to school!đ§”
Primary and secondary schools are set to reopen for the New Academic year 2024-25 in less than 2 weeks.
Most parents face a lot of challenges during the back-to-school season.
here are some helpful tips to ensure it all goes as smooth as possible: ...
𧔠Take your child to visit the new school or classroom before the first day of school
and take an opportunity to tour the school.
Many children get nervous about new situations, including changing to a new school, classroom or teacher. Attend any orientations you can.
đ§”Develop a healthy sleep routine.
Help your child adjust to earlier bedtimes a week or two before the new school year starts.
đ§”Plan for safe travel to & from school.
Practice any new routes or modes of transportation.
If your child is walking to school be realistic about your childâs pedestrian skills and remind children to look both ways to see that no other traffic is coming before crossing the street.

Thrilled to announce that I will be a mentor to women entrepreneurs in the âWomen Entrepreneurship for Africaâ (WE4A) program! a program I once participated in as an alumni.
Over the next few months, I look forward to the opportunity to share my experiences, knowledge, and leadership with talented and ambitious women entrepreneurs from Senegal, Togo, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon, Kenya and Malawi as they work towards making their entrepreneurial dreams a reality.
The WE4A Programme, supported by the European Union (EU), the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and implemented by the Tony Elumelu Foundation and GIZ, is dedicated to empowering women entrepreneurs across Africa.
