From Theory to Practice: HND Candidates across Universities in Buea Engage at HUIB Labs

On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Campus B and campus C of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea played host to candidates for the Higher National Diploma (HND) examinations as they commenced their practical sessions.

Students from various universities across the region, pursuing programs in Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Road Construction, converged at HUIB to make use of its well-equipped laboratory facilities. The practicals are being conducted under the close supervision of examination officials and representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education.

HUIB, which has consistently hosted both the practical and written phases of these examinations over the years, remains committed to its mission of fostering academic excellence through hands-on training. The institution continues to distinguish itself with modern laboratories and facilities designed to enhance effective learning.

The practical examinations are scheduled to continue throughout the week.

From Football to Athletics: HIBMAT President’s Cup Ignites Campus Excitement.

The President’s Cup at HIBMAT University Institute of Buea officially kicked off on Tuesday, April 12, 2026, under the theme “Building Champions: The Power of Dedication.”

The tournament, featuring football, basketball, handball, and athletics, brought together hundreds of students from different schools at the Molyko Omnisport Stadium, showcasing talent, teamwork, and school spirit.

The opening ceremony was presided over by University President Dr. Jude Chialak, flanked by top university administrators. In his address, he emphasized that the annual sporting event reflects the unity and diversity of talent within the institution, as well as the university’s strong commitment to nurturing and developing these talents.

A true celebration of sports, unity, and excellence!

Today April 9th, 2026, students from the Engineering and Business Schools at HIBMAT University Institute of Buea successfully defended their HND internship reports, marking the first step toward their HND exams.

Most candidates earned Excellent and Very Good grades. The exercise continues tomorrow with students from the School of Health Sciences.

Students from the Logistics and Transport Management Department of HIBMAT University Institute of Buea (HUIB) recently embarked on an enriching study visit to Douala International Airport as part of their hands-on professional training.

This academic excursion provided our future logistics experts with firsthand exposure to airport operations, cargo handling systems, supply chain coordination, and transport management practices in one of Cameroon’s busiest aviation hubs. From understanding import/export procedures to observing real-time logistics flow, the experience was both insightful and inspiring.
