A new month begins with an event globally recognised as the "World Aids Day".
In commemoration of this day Buea, South West Region of Cameroon's citizens, members of the health department as well as students from the department of Women and Gender studies take a walk from Bongo Square to Checkpoint.
The importance of this day is to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS and end stigmatisation. This day is equally to educate the community to join hands and help stop stigma in patients. Thus, it should not end today but continue to create awareness about HIV/AIDS.
GENDER BASED VIOLENCE 2023
We are currently on the 16 days activism against Gender Based Violence, with theme "UNITE! Invest to prevent violence against women".
Why is there still violence in this our generation Today? Why do we use violence to make a point, express our feelings or show how powerful we are? Why neglect the fact that we are all humans and what we need is just mutual understanding?.
This and many more will be tackled in our upcoming program for the end against Gender Based Violence in our society.
It's high time we say No!! To this cankerworm eaten up society as we get ready for the ASSOCIATION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE STATUS OF THE CAMEROONIAN WOMAN (AISCAW) to join hands with other Organizations and preach against it.

Congratulations to all successful candidates of the GCE 2020 examination. Wondering the next area of study? We are here to recommend the department of WOMEN AND GENDER STUDIES in the University of Buea. This is one of the best departments in UB that enhances capacity building, builds up self esteem for both women and men, train students to become gender experts who are groomed with both intellectual and practical skills required to solve the complex gender issues in our communities . Gender is also one of the most lucrative areas in the job market as it appears at the global agenda's top list.
