First-year students in our Bakery and Food Processing Department, took part in a practical session on shawarma production, which involved four key stages: flatbread preparation, production of savory meat and sauce, filling and assembling the shawarma, and finally wrapping it in aluminum foil for preservation purposes.

In a hands-on learning experience, first-year students of Fashion Clothing and Textiles (FCT) explored fabric treatment processes, including scouring, bleaching, and dyeing. Scouring cleansed the fabric surfaces of impurities such as dirt, wax, and oil. The bleaching process both whitened the fabric and increased its receptivity to dyes. By soaking the fabric in dyes and chemicals, the dyeing process imbued the fabric with color and enhanced its visual appeal, much like the appearance seen on bedsheets and handkerchiefs.
