SPEAK GOOD OR REMAIN SILENT
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent.”

The Prophet ﷺ said:
مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ، فَلْيَقُلْ خَيْرًا أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him speak good or remain silent.” — Bukhari and Muslim

LESSONS FROM THIS HADITH:

- Not everything a person knows is appropriate to say.

- Good speech is an act of worship when it is spoken with a good intention.

- Idle speech can lead to regret and conflict.

- Backbiting, lying, insults, and rumours harm people.

- Remaining silent when speech is of no benefit is wisdom.

- Before you speak, ask yourself: Is it true? Is it beneficial? Is this the right time to say it?

A single word can build a heart, and a single word can destroy it.

Always remember: If your words will not bring goodness, then remaining silent is better.

🌹 20 VIRTUES OF A MOTHER 🌹
A mother is the means through which a person enters this world.

She carries her child in pregnancy and endures the hardship for nine months.

She endures the pain of childbirth for her child.

She is the first to nurture and care for her child from birth.

Her love for her child is deep and sincere.

She is the first school of a child’s upbringing and character.

A mother teaches her child how to speak and teaches them good manners.

She sacrifices her time for the wellbeing and happiness of her family.

She is patient with the mistakes of her children.

Her supplication has a great impact on the life of her child.

Allah has joined obedience to her with the worship of Him.

The Prophet ﷺ gave preference to the mother three times when emphasizing kindness and good treatment.

Paradise is beneath the feet of mothers.

Honouring one’s mother is a sign of good character.

Her happiness brings blessings into the life of her child.

Failing to honour her brings about the displeasure of Allah.

She is a pillar of peace and stability in the home.

A mother gives care without expecting anything in return.

Being kind to her increases provision and blessings.

A mother is a great blessing from Allah, whom it is obligatory to honour, love, and obey in matters that are appropriate and permissible.

🤲 May Allah have mercy upon our mothers who have passed away, and grant our living mothers good health, blessings, and long life in obedience to Him. Ameen.
